1) DVC sales are great, and they're a cash cow, so DVC point prices continually go up.

2) In order for DVC to justify the ever-increasing cost of points, they have to show that buying points saves money on future vacations over paying cash for that same room.

In order for 1&2 to continue, cash room prices must therefore also increase. If the non-owner Disney-goer balks at room prices and Disney cuts prices (and/or discounts heavily) the benefit of buying DVC diminishes.
Ooh - I know the answer - pi!

ridiculous pricing, needs 40% off to even be in the range of renting at $20/point. there's a limit to all this...danger will robinson, danger.

Trilogy first though...

movie was good enough but it had nothing on the 5 books written by Douglas Adams.

I'm 42 this year and honestly it's my favorite year so far - towel year as we call it

Yup did the same. Looked at the 2 bedroom price and laughed.

I think it's more Disney trying to make it the new norm. I see stuff our kids buy and say that's crazy with the pricing but to them it is what it's always been so it doesn't seem over priced.

And DVC units at DRR are fully book for much of next spring. For those trying to get in but can't, good to know they can get a cash room for 40% off. What a discount for a brand new resort. They really love us!!

Did I mention I'm going to work for Disney . . .

(No.)

Only the amount of declared units......Lots of cash rooms available and Disney needs to move them apparently.
