Default Waitlist and Availability Question

I have two waitlists set up for the Riviera for late January.

If Disney declares more units before then, will waitlists get filled before taking new reservations?

We are booked for Sat-Sat, but we now want to come in Friday night, flight times are better. I currently have an OKW studio for Friday night booked, but would prefer to be at Riviera so there won't be as much of a hassle to change, if possible. So, I set up a wait list for that one night.

If it come thru, fine, if not, that is ok as well. I had just never thought about how it might work for waitlists if extra inventory was declared.

Sorry, didn't mean to set off an alarm.

That's actually a very good question about how waitlists are fulfilled!

Based on my experience, the answer is yes, because for other resorts, the waitlists seemed to get filled about the time we heard about another declaration. Happened that way for us for CCV.

You may already know this. Do not just sit on your waitlist and hope it gets filled. We have two reservations in December we wanted to extend one day. Set up waitlist's on both. I stalked the RAT and found the nights I needed for both reservations and modified them myself. Neither waitlist was ever filled by the system. Keep checking for the night you need. It may show up!

In your situation, did you pay someone for your reservations?

No we own both reservations. We are taking another couple as a christmas gift. We set up their reservation on our points.

I see, no, I check daily, often multiple times, but I really think for the Riviera that it is going to take more inventory declared for mine to become available, but you never know. When it gets down to it, the most availability happens at close to the 30 day window when people are really deciding what they are going to do before it is too late to cancel--and probably also those that booked confirmed reservations to rent to others for cash are down to the wire if they have not rented them already.

I just had a studio at VGF open up in April for my kids for their two nights before their cruise, which I did not expect to happen, so that was a waitlist success.
