I have merged all gondola threads and moved the thread to Transportation since the ultimate purpose of the gondolas is to be a transportation system that serves multiple resorts and parks.

Whoever started the first thread got to be the winner regardless of which thread was the most active.

Regulations. No one is allowing this yet. When it is done there are humans at the controls. It's all still in testing. While Disney can do a lot of things on its own it still has to follow state and federal rules on buses.
Unless they built their own private roads, only on their property, which given the cost might as well build a train or monorail.

A dedicated road or lanes with autonomous, or semi-autonomous buses would be expensive (without the proper corporate sponsorship), but it would be pretty cool.

With Disney involved, I doubt the "no one is allowing this" would be an issue. Many places are clamoring to be "autonomous-friendly" cities. The mouse knows people who can make those things happen.
