I always take wth me everywhere a thin, button down long sleeve shirt for busses, restaurants and a/c rides - I planned on walking or taking the boat so I left it behind. Won't forget it tonite.

I forgot to mention that we saw the fireworks from our balcony the first night.

I was not sure if I would miss the parks but so far so good. I enjoy spending time at the pool which is what I did most of the day before heading out to POR Riverside for dinner. Kind of boring but I like the relaxation and not having a place to run/rush to. I know I won't have any pool time (probably too cool for us) in December so I will enjoy it now (don't get to do it at home either).

Plenty of activities in the afternoon. I found a nice area where I can switch where I lounge - sun after swimming and back to shade for reading. I am right be DVC center so every 10 minutes I see a guide with prospective buyers.

I walk each morning about 60-90 minutes and I can't believe it's cooler here in the morning than at home.

Probably a repeat of yesterday - just will have to decide where is dinner tonite - AKL or BW. Decisions, decisions.

Slept a bit better after taking two motrin and buying the one serve bottle of wines at the shop. My walk at 7 am til about 8:15. I still can't believe it's cooler here than at home but we did have one the hottest month on record in the Northeast region (according to the news).

Pool again til about 1:30 - lunch, clean up and out to AKL. Bus to DTD and then bus to AKL. Not too bad. Took some pictures, walked around, people watch and read some. Checked in for the Boma/Jiko culinary tour right before 4 pm. After tour - browsed in the shop before taking bus to DTD again. Walked around a bit and then walked by to Artist Pallete for dinner. This evening now it did rain some - nothing crazy or pouring, at least not here at SSR. Since it is rainning, relaxing and reading on the balcony. Now will try to post pictures on FB and maybe one here. This ordeal is another hour for me by the time I am done.

I have been sleeping better and better which is good. Got up for the usual walk - again notice the different temperature. I do work up a sweat by the time I am finished. I took a different path and it was not Paddock section I have missed the last few days , but the Carousel section. Since I walked a different way - I came to pass the pool I saw on the first day and could not figure out the last few days where it was - duhhhhh - now it is all starting to make sense.


Hung out by the pool. I read, swim, take a nap, read some more, take a swim, take a nap . I buy a pina colada each day by the pool but today I spilled practically the whole drink. Lunch in the room around 1 pm and back to the pool til about 3 pm. Came back, showerd and watched a movie. Housekeeping came and I noticed that she did not take the tip and I left it where it was obvious with the housekeeping card. I also had to search for one outside since she did not give us any new toilet tissue. No biggie.


I waited for the girls since they were on the way back and were going to DTD. I was not sure I wanted to go agai. They came back and were so tired, they fell asleep. I decided to leave even though it was finally raining and I decided on the Contemporary Resort. Iate at the Contempo Cafe and had the Mahi-Tahi sandwhich with string beans. I am being brave and eating at all the counter service places alone - not sure - but could not do the sit down restaurants - I know, I know, not much difference.


I remembered all DVC members are allowed at the Top of the World Lounge, I said why not check it out. Only problem is that my room key does not say DVC on it and I never bothered to have it changed. My daughter's does say it. I did not want to look like a fool and denied entry and try to explain that yes I was a dvc member. I went down to the lobby and explained it to the lady cm. She tried to call Saratoga but they were not answering. She said she believed me, how many in my party and I was on my way up. Very nice view and nice lounge. I had another pina colada, took some pictures and left. I would have liked to stay for the fireworks but it was 8:45 (close to 9) and did not want to wait til 10 pm.


Took the bus to DTD and met the girls at Earl of Sandwhich where they just had finished dinner. Browsed two shops, called it a night and walked back to SSR.


Tomorrow is our last full day.

Last full day - how depressing when I went out for my walk - ME express letter at the door


This time a new path took me where I could see the Treehouse Villas. Back from walk at about 8:15 - breakfast in the room and out by the pool. Finished my book today. Lunch was at Artist Pallete. In the room by 3pm or so - showered, computer, some tv and my one of a thousand, lol, talks with hubby.


Tonite I decided on Boadrwalk. I got off at the Beach Club and walked around the lake. Came back and had my dinner at Beaches and Cream at the counter. I really wanted a cheeseburger and I thought this would be the perfect place. Walked around lake again and onto the Bakery for a Tiramisu. Too many choices - Saw three different entertainment acts and then called it a night and took the bus back to DTD where after talking again to hubby, he convinced me to get ice cream at Chiradelli. DTD was packed. Bus to SSR. I would have walked but don't like to walk alone in the dark. I am sure it's safe but feel better if I would see some people or if I was with my daughter and her friend again.


Back in the room by 9:00 or so and just missed the fireworks again from the balcony. They finished after I got up here.


We have a 1:45 Jet Blue flight. Will check our bags before 10 am, have breakfast and be ready for our 11:00 am pick-up.


Not sure if I will be on in the morning - I probably will depending on what time I get up.


Some random thoughts and I am sure there will be more.


Four times I saw someone popping someone else's pimples out in the open - what's up with that? Twice by the pool, once at the Boardwalk and once at the bus stop at DTD. Yuk.


Saw an accident involving more than one car each day. First one was right outside of the airport.


Considering how big the resort is, the shop is exremely tiny. (no biggie, just an observation).


Many NJ plates, not many NY but saw an SUV with CA plate - again observation.


SSR is a lovely resort. They are refurbishing the Spring section and even though mine was not refurbished, I have absolutely no complaints. Because the resort is huge and one can always get a reservation here (more or less), it would obviously not be my first choice but I would not hesitate to stay here again especially if I needed multiple rooms and this would almost guarantee that.


I did not witness any downpours or crazy thunderstorms the way we have in the past for the end of August.


I am really looking foward to coming back in December with hubby and see the decorations for the first time. I did not miss the parks maybe because I know I will be back soon and did not mind the relaxing especially with the heat.

Just wanted to add again - that I sat at the pool by the DVC preview center and literally all day guides are out with many prospective buyers. The vans start out at 7:20 am and don't stop coming.
