Default Great Start!

Jambo was the third stop, after Pop Century and Carribean Beach. Got a peak at the Art of Animation, (on ME on the way home, we got a tour of AA, it looked really cool, and really big)

We arrived at Jambo at about 11am or thereabouts and were met outside by a gentlemen who found us on his list and escorted us onto the elevator up to the club lounge for check in. We didn’t do online check in.

Checking in at the club lounge is really nice, while my wife and I dealt with the cast member, the kids enjoyed drinks and snacks from the lounge offerings. At that time of day they had coffee, sodas, juices, milk and a couple of different kinds of cookies. (I also had a very large glass of jungle juice!)

Check in had only one glitch, which I still don’t understand. The CM could not sync our park tickets with our KTTW cards, although he tried, finally he told us that we would have to go to a will call window at what ever park we were going to to pick up our tickets, when were returned to the resort with our paper park tickets, the CM would then able to sync them. this is not a problem when you stay at a non dvc resort, so why is it a problem at DVC? A nice CM did that for us when we returned, and as I was eying the paper tickets jealously plotting how I could get 8 fast passes instead of four, my hopes were dashed as she blacked out the cards with a marker and cut them up?, bummer

Another stroke of luck our room was ready and we had a savannah view. We were in room 6902, a studio which was the last room on the left hallway leading away from the club lounge. We had a view directly down the ‘sunset’ savannah. When animals came all the way down the savannah, we had a nice view, but primarily our view was of the tops of trees. After getting into the room we headed down to Mara for a quick bite to eat before heading out to epcot for the afternoon and evening and my wife’s birthday dinner!
I'm interested in hearing about the club level, and I'm also interested in hearing if your view improves.

We had a room that was classified as standard, and had animals there all the time. I think we may have gotten lucky, so I'm really interested in hearing more.

Hope you have a great trip!

Nice to know I can sync my KTTW with my tickets. Does anyone else do this?
I'm curious about this too. So you can buy your tickets at undercover tourist and then sync them with your KTTW cards when you get to the World? That would be fantastic.

Default Epcot, day 1, and Julia's birthday dinner

We headed to epcot after lunch, and found the will call ticket window. We got our tickets from a very nice older gentlemen who was dealing with us as if we had never been do Disney before. He was really nice and helpful, gave my wife a second birthday button, and just had to tell us about all the things we should do in the world. Now we are all kinda antsy trying to finally get into a park, but he was so nice we had to politely listen to him. He did mention that the Epcot fireworks show was going to be changing and this would be the last year of Illuminations. It will be interesting to see what they have there next year or if it changes at all.

He gave us our tickets and we headed into the park. We got on spaceship earth, it took us 4 trips to the world to get on this ride and now we do it each visit, its cool, interesting and air conditioned !

After spaceship earth, we headed over to the world showcase, all the soaring FPs had been given out by this time, so we explored the countries a bit. My first task was to get a Guinness in England, that’s become a tradition of mine, just one….

My wife, dtr and sn then explored the shops in England and France and we headed over to the US to see the singers, Voices of Liberty, I saw the last 5 minutes of them singing about three trips ago and really wanted to see them, the acoustics combined with their voices was really amazing, and as both of my kids are really good singers, I wanted them to see this. Unfortunately, their last show was at 5pm and we were too late.

By this time it was almost 6pm and we had an ADR for my wifes birthday dinner at the San Angel Inn. (Hopefully my dtr will read this and add here what everyone ate.) I had chicken with a mole sauce it had a chocolate base to it and was very interesting. My wife tried a margarita, but wasn’t thrilled with it, it was definitely too strong for me.

At the conclusion of dinner, we had a birthday cake for my wife that my Dtr ordered from disney’s cake service ahead of time. It had a very nice picture of Minnie on it and was very good. The server we had was very nice and helpful, the service in general was great, the resturant was very crowded but we were seated on time served promptly and had an appropirate wait for our food to be brought out, everyone liked their entrees and we had great seats on the railing overlooking the canal and temple screen. My only complaint was that they had salsa and corn chips for the bread course and I love salsa, but hate corn chips

After dinner we shopped a little, and rode the ride, we then wandered around epcot and headed back to our room.

My dad and I had the chicken with mole sauce (which was sooooo delicious!) with poblano rice, my brother had pork medallions with roasted veggies and this spicy pumpkin sauce, and my mom had grilled shrimp on a yucca puree (which was also amazing!)
