I voted breakfast, btw, and it consists of tea, juice, toast, scrambled eggs, bacon or linguica (Portuguese sausage-I can get it here in Atlanta now), and some sliced fruit like strawberries or kiwi.
I know, I loved that view and that grand villa so much that I did not want to leave. In fact, the entire time we were there DH and I did not go into the parks except before check-in. We just sat around, walked around, cooked and enjoyed every view from every corner, window, or balcony. I wanted it to be my "real" second home.
On the last day, we stayed until the very last second of check out and then DH had to drag me out of there, my nails clinging onto the wall because I did not want to leave.

That sounds like a great breakfast! We love strawberries and Linguica.

There is a large Portuguese population in San Jose, CA and the surrounding valley areas ( lots of farms/dairies) and there is one meat facility that is known for it's linguica. They sell their Linguica in the stores, but it is not the premium grade that can purchased only through the store directly or mail. Every Portuguese family within a least 100 miles knows of this store, because of their Linguica. They ship overnight, if you are interested or want to try something different. It is not fatty, and it is not like store Linguica.

We cut the Linguica into 2 inch lengths and simmer it in (don't laugh)... Carl Rossi Paisano wine. It is how we learned to cook it many years ago, and it works and taste great.

Ok, back to the regularly scheduled programing...

For breakfast we have either buttermilk pancakes (compliments of Alton Brown) light and fluffy and oh so good, bacon or sausage. On other days the incredible edible egg scrambled with bacon or sausage, toast and juice. We also can't forget the ever so easy bowl of cereal with fresh fruit and DS protein shake.

We usually get Gaspar's linguica, it's made in Rhode Island (I'm from SE Mass). Usually if you want linguica shipped to you there's a 5 lb minimum-it'd take some epic effort to get through that much ).

I've never simmered linguica in wine, we usually grill it, I'll have to try it simmered in wine. I don't typically like sausage at all, but there's something about the texture and flavor of linguica's that's so unique!

I'm with ya on buttermilk-we go through a lot of it when I bake. Goes in everything-banana bread, waffles, pretty much anything leavened. Good stuff!

Shoot, now I'm hungry...
