I have been looking for a DVC resale for a few months now. I do not currently own any. I really want to stay at BLT. I also really like to visit on off peak times. I know the 7 month vs. 11 month difference. For those of you who have tried, is it easy or even possible to book BLT during the adventure season (studio or 1bdrm)? This would determine which resale I purchase. I really appreciate the help.

to Mouseowners! We were able to get 3 nights at BLT in late May in a 2Br-MK view using our AKV pts. I'd think in off peak - you'd be fine.

I agree. We also are booked into a 2BR lockoff Lake view in May using AKV points. We did it exactly 7 months prior.

For example, the first few weeks of December.... tough with DVC, but "off peak" for Disney. |

It is not adventure season but I was able to book (exactly at 7 months) a standard studio for March. I would guess standard view is the hardest to get since it is the lowest % of rooms (both MK & BL views were available also).
I also agree, we really won't know true availability until the resort is sold out, or at least almost sold out. |

So far, it has been fairly easy to book BLT. But that's not really a fair test, as the resort is still being sold. It will be harder to book after it sells out.
That said, many of us believe is will usually be possible to book a room a BLT most of the year. You won't necessarily be able to get your choice of category (standard view in particular) and you shouldn't expect to get a room for December/Easter, but most of the year you should be able to get something at exactly the 7 month mark. Keep in mind we are just guessing. So if your heart is set on staying at BLT and you won't be happy at your home resort, buy at BLT. Over the life of the contract, the lower dues will offset much of the higher buy-in price.

I have a long ways to go but I am going to try to book a 2br std suite at BLT to celebrate my 40th bday next year (March). VWL is my home resort which I will book at the 11 month window and then try for BLT at the 7 month window and hope I can request one of the standard rooms that hav ea bit of a MK room.
At first when I was looking to plan for my big party next year, I was set on VWL but since my first trip to WDW was as a baby a few months after WDW opened, we stayed at the Contemporary (no I don't remember it :P). We took my folks a couple of years ago and my Dad talked about wanting to stay there again and I figure this would be the best chance to stay there Anyway, I hope that whatever resort you buy resale will make you happy. Make sure to book there if anything and waitlist BLT

I agree with Sal. The question is, how upset would you be to get "stuck" at your home resort.
It hasn't been open long enough with enough buyers to get good idea of what booking will be like a few years down the road. |

For example, early december is off-peak for WDW in attendence and park crowds, yet the DVC resorts often are booked at 11 months for this very popular time for DVC Owners to attend the World. You won't find too much BLT, BVC, BWV or VWL available at 7 months during this time. Certainly no chance of the BLT Standard view you are hoping to rent, that is long gone! Also MLK weekend and the marathons in January tend to rent out quite early. So you need to consider is it Disney off-peak or DVC off-peak? -Tony
