Default Must suck to be a recent resale buyer

From DVCnews.com

Rates for the Scotland adventure are 714 Disney Vacation Club points per adult and 678 points per child. Booking of Adventures by Disney destinations with DVC points is not available to certain resale owners. Additional fees may apply.

Wow, those point figures are outrageous.

I could bank and borrow....Nah, don't think so.

This is proof positive that Disney loves resale buyer cause they really want us to not use our points so foolishly.

those amounts are ridiculous. Next time I buy more points I won't be allowed to do it but who cares I will pay cash to someone else.

Yeah, that's exactly why I don't think the resale restrictions should prevent someone from buying resale.

They do prevent me from considering a direct purchase, though. I mean, why on earth would I pay $165/pt when I can't transfer perks when I sell?

Go rent the points through Daddio and you'll have $7Grand plus in your pocket. That would pay for a pretty nice trip to Scotland.

You mean for only 700 points, I can go have REAL AUTHENTIC HAGGIS?!?!

That's per adult, so I better hit the point rental boards....
700 x $10/point (I like easy math and I'm counting on a good volume rate)
x 4 people
________
That is ONLY $28k for the family!

(better be some damn good haggis for that kind of coin!)

Default Resale

The only item that a DVC owner would like to use but can't if you are a recent resale buyer would probably be the Disney cruise. Yes I know there are a couple of other things you would lose out but for most of us the cruise would be the only real loss. In my case I have 100 points not eligible but the rest of my points are.

Based on the costs of ABD I will never use them. That truly is not a resale restriction. I can plan the same vacations at less than half the cost.

I will also never use points for a cruise..unless I am about to lose them.
