Default Guest Assistance Cards

On a UK forum there is talk that the GAC is changing, and it appears from a few visitors who are there at the moment, that they are making it slightly more difficult for people to access the fast pass entrances. One guest was told that the system is currently under review.

Does anyone know what that is likely to mean?

I have not heard anything officially, but I do know the the GAC abuse is becoming an issue.

There are 2 levels of the pass. One is suppose to be where ADA access is not available, the other is for service beyond ADA requirements.

On one of our trips last year guests with a GAC were being told to get a fast pass and enter with that. That applied to Toy Story Mania and others with fast pass access. DHS is mostly H/C friendly and can use the same lines.
That was as far was wheelies go. I would have thought they would be done with their *tweeking by now*. It seems fair to us. After the FP's run out, maybe CM's will hand out FP's (with a future time) to folks with GAC's ?

Again....There are two different GAC's. The more common GAC allows you to use alternative entrance cause the regular entrance is not usable by the guest. The second pass is for guests who are incapable of standing in lines, even if it has an accessible entrance.

Ergo, "that was as far as wheelies go." comment.

I'm not surprised they're reviewing it. I had a friend (who is now an ex-friend) who would abuse the crap out of it.

We used one of those on a recent trip. My sister-in-law is just about 40, but has a debilitating back condition. To look at her, you would have no idea - very slim, fit and appearing in great shape. She just can't stand (or walk) for long periods. We rented an ECV for her. At rides, she would use the GAC and walk through the FP line. We were actually the very first people on TSM that day

Even though it was all legit, it felt kinda "taking advantage" to use it as well. We did, and I even told her that we liked having her since she was our "unlimited fast pass," but I could see just how easy it would be to abuse.

Cheers.

we always get it as my mom in Disney needs a wheel chair, we rent the powered ones, as she just cannot stand or walk for long periods of time. She has a handicap pass for parking. Disney should have you show documentation from a doctor or your DOT (they issue the handicap parking passes) that shows you need the pass. I have heard people on the same line as us giggle at how easy it was to just get the pass and beat the lines......

I was planning on letters from my kids' doctors. I didn't realize these were optional!?! Amazing, no wonder it's abused.
