Default Animal Kingdom Value View?

What are the views like at Animal Kingdom Lodge in the VALUE villas? Are any of them Savannah view? Can you specifically reserve Savannah view for the value villas? I need a 1 or 2 bedroom and would really like to do the value view..so Im just wondering how that works. Does booking early help with these requests?

There are some parking lot, some pool
and some savannah views within the
Value Room allotment. You can request
a specific view, but it is not guaranteed
by any means. It is a risk you take for
the lower point cost. Value villas seem
to book fairly quickly, so if you want one,
I'd venture you'd need the 11 month priority
booking window unless you are very flexible.

I can't remember where I found this,
but here is a map that may help.

The green indicates where Value
rooms are located, yellow is the
standard view (pool view at Jambo),
the pink is Concierge level rooms
and the orange is the Grand Villas.
I have no idea about the red, white
and blue on the map though.

Those were part of the construction schedule for making over the rooms.

Thanks for the map! We are staying in a 2br value in August. I booked at the 11 month mark to the day, and I requested Savannah view. MS said there are no guarantees but my odds were better because I booked and requested so early. We had a standard (bus stop) view at Kidani last year and we were totally fine with that... But SV would be nice!

I hope you get your savanna view, but MS was wrong to tell you your odds were better because you booked & requested early.

The requests are not granted by time of booking. It used to be that way, but hasn't been that wasy for a long time. I wish they would go back to it, but apparently more members value the ability to get into a room early over getting a request. Personally, I think the front desk people just got tired of dealing with pissed off people camping out in the lobby waiting for their rooms.

I've seen pictures of the pool view value rooms and the views seem very nice. Sonce most value rooms are savanna or pool, the odds of getting a parking lot view are not that great. Get there as early in the day as you can and politely ask for savanna view when you check in to improve your chances. Hope it works out for you.
