We want to stay at BCV and have been waitlisted for our trip later this month with no success. I love the Epcot resort area.

My question is.... What is a fair price for BCV resales? I have been browsing all the resale sites and see a wide range of prices.

Ok.. I actually have 2 questions.. If we do not buy into BCV, what are the chances of getting a ressie at BCV at the 7 month window at school break times? We would never go at Christmas/New Years. A friend's mother who owns at BCV couldn't even get a ressie for next month during the F&W.

Any input on pricing and/ or availability during these times would Be appreciated! Thanks MO!

Very few (if any) of the financial analyses/arguments I've seen contemplate that the DVC purchase and MF cost is really only a fraction of your overall cost.

If you save 10% (or even 50%) on your DVC purchase cost, that's likely still only a much smaller percentage of your total "DVC/Disney" vacation cost.

You also have:
Travel (i.e. airfare, car rental)
Park admission
Meals
Souvenirs
Etc.

In my case, I bought at BLT. I could have saved some money buying resale at SSR, but I really want to be at BLT, not SSR.

I have 6 kids and live in NJ.

My total cost for my annual vacation (estimated in today's dollars)

DVC dues $1200
DVC membership cost of points $614
(simply divided by 50, not looking at time value of $, NPV, etc.)
Airfare $2,000
Meals (say dining plan) $1700
Park tickets $3,000
Souvenirs $500
Etc. $500
Car rental $1000

Total cost = $10,514 per year

(OUCH!)

X 50 years of vacations

=$525,700

(DOUBLE OUCH!)

Assume I purchased other than BLT and saved half the dues and half the amortized purchase price. This would be an annual savings of $900.

This means that instead of $10,514 a year, it would be $9,614 a year. The real savings each year is 8.5% assuming I could save 50% on the purchase and dues (unlikely).

So the premium for "buy where you want to stay" is much lower in this context than if you only consider the purchase price and MF of DVC.

To me, if I were staying at a resort I didn't want and still incurring all these other costs, I'd be upset much more than the marginal savings in the DVC cost would offset.

Of course, I have an unusally large family with 6 kids, but the same concept would apply to everyone who spends money on park passes, travel, and food in addition to the cost of DVC membership.

Apparently someone passed ROFR on 150 BWV points for $33 pp!

Apparently the buyer knew the seller, it was a private deal with no broker. They used their own modified timeshare contract they downloaded from the internet. But it was a sale- and it passed ROFR at $33 pp.

Low and behold, our salesperson called and said he made a mistake on our interest rate and is sending us new documents and is raising the rate to 14.75% and tha we should get those re-notarized and sent back in. My question is why? we signed a legal document and its not our mistake. we have paid for a notory and now have to pay again! I would like any feedback on this and was wondering if any mistakes have happened to other members.
