Today was different. I asked for a reservation for August 5th and the first question he had for me was "what year". I have a June use year so I get my new points next June and he said you have no points you will have to borrow. Well I have over 700 points left from my June use year and I said "no I don't, I get new points next June". Then he said" you don't have any AKV points left". I said" look at contract 9 and 14 and you will see the points that I need are there".
I thought I was talking to an outsourced subcontractor in India. A bit of background for you... After a bit of a dissapointing call to MS to try and make a reservation for around the end of November/early December we were told that unfortunately there was nothing whatsoever available for either our home resort (AKL) or any other. Now, as I say, my partner and I are from the UK and therefore we tend only to take a 14 night vacation when heading over to visit you lovely people over in the states. Anything less than that means a rather costly flight for a very small holiday :( Of course, we would have booked much sooner but to be totally honest, the economy the world over has left us in limbo as to whether we can afford it. Now that we can, we really want (and need) this vacation, Anyways, I digress...

They have told us that we are on the wait list for our dates and are praying (aswell as wishing and dreaming like you wouldnt believe) that they come through soon enough before flight costs out-price us :(

However, and herein lies the question, it does not mention anywhere on our profile details over on the DVC site that we are on a wait list. We haven't recieved any email confirmation or anything like that. Is this normal or should it tell us somewhere on our profile that we are on the waitlist?

Unfortunately, it looks like work committments will mean that I need to cancel and rebook our trip for another time. The only other time we really want to go is early December, so we probably won't be able to book on points. While waiting to see if the October trip really needs to be cancelled, I have booked a fully refundable AP rate for a studio at the BWV for about $15 per point (after adding in tax and no free broadband).

So we will be out of pocket cash now, but will get about 150 points back. We have an Aug UY, so the points will not be distressed, though most will require an extra trip or 2.

Any thoughts on what I should ask from my employer to cover my additional costs for having to cancel a cheaper point trip and substitute in a more expensive cash trip? We are new members, just bought 200 points at BLT in July. We received a bill today for annual dues in the amount of $350+ dollars. I was under the understanding that we could pay these annually in January. Why are they sending us a bill now? We've only been members for a month. I had some health issues that required surgery last May and thought things were over with! Just had an ultrasound yesterday and found out that I will need to go back into surgery again. I am 30 days away from my vacation on Thursday.

I am seeing a new surgeon and am hoping that with my past history and a current ultrasound that he will have a definitive suggestion for me ON THURSDAY. So, here is my question...

If Thursday is officially my 30th day (NOT counting the day I check in) and I find out I need surgery b/f vacation, can I call DVC MS on Thursday and still get all my 2011 and 2010 points (that were banked) put back into my account?

If the Dr. needs to do additional tests and cannot give me a recommendation, yet and I need to cancel after my 30th day mark, what are my options? Those points go into a holding account and I must USE those points within 90 days of my original check in day OR I must use them within 90 days of when I made the cancellation?

I think I may just need to call MS, but I am so emotional, that I know I will cry on the poor person! I keep trying to put things in perspective. I am going to be fine, am NOT terminal, and WDW will always be there!! ]]> lazydazy8 http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44458
