Inspired by another thread, it made me curious how many of us are inked. I'd love to see them, as I just adore tattoos! Here is a shot of mine (yeah boring me, only have the one), now Let's see yours!!

Well, this is the only one I have handy and it's hard to see...It is an ''ankh'', an Egyptian symbol of eternal life...It's my left side of my chest...Almost counts as cleavage, hey, viking?:p
Hey, Mar, I can't quite make out what your tattoo is?

Well we seem to have the same location for our tats athenna!
I realized after I posted it's not that easy to see mine clearly. Here is the description: It's pegasus, the mythological winged horse. He's blue with purple wings and a yellow tail and is flying over a rainbow and some clouds.

Neat tats guys! :)
DD has 2 tattoos- One nautical star on the back of her shoulder and another on her foot . I remember when she got the one done on her foot- OMG painful!!!!!!!!! To be honest I wasnt thrilled when she had them done but they have grown on me! :) She has pics stored on her puter- will try to get them when shes home and post.
She has been wanting me to get a Disney one- but I'm too chicken- Will have to stick with the tats that last about 5 days from TL or MGM! :crackedup

DP has a tat on his arm - procured after little bit much of :ale: with some friends!
However, even then, his 'Church Lady' side still came through. He wanted a rank of organ pipe with the phrase "Gloria" (from Gloria in excelsis, deo) on a banner across the base of the pipes. The artist (in a dark side of Atlanta) had no idea what a rank of organ pipes was, so Jim had to sketch it out (with amazingly straight lines, considering). The artist kept thinking "Gloria" was DP's girlfriend who like the organ. :ROTFL:
It's basically a simpler version of the seal of the American Guild of Organists:

What can I say? The only difference bettween sailiors and church folk when the go on a bender, is the type of tattoo they get!! :D

DW has a southwestern scene on one of her legs ( for some reason, i think I should probably know which one ). It's a cowboy on horseback and other stuff ( probably should know that also ).
I keep saying I'm going to get one - have even drawn it out & know what it's going to be - but I always seem to have an excuse for not getting it. Years ago I was waiting till my arm was a certain size - got there, never got the tat. now I'm worried it may interfere with possible future employment with da mouse.

now I'm worried it may interfere with possible future employment with da mouse.
As long as you have it in a place that can be covered up easily you'll be fine. That's one reason I got mine in a spot that can be revealed or not as I choose. Not only for "mousehiring-ability, there are many employers that are prejudiced against tattoos.
I saw mrs, viking's tattoo, and as another horse lover I thought it was super!
BTW Jigger, when I got mine someone was there getting tink tattooed onto her in the same spot. A LOT of folks ask why I, the Disney Nut, have no Disney tattoos. I just couldn't come up with one that I want permanently affixed to me. The one I do have I thought about for years. I love horses (as stated above) and the thought of a flying horse is just awesome to me. IMHO nothing would be cooler than the ability to fly through the air AND the ability to gallop on the land.

My D has an "HP" for Harry Potter on her belly.
Yes, she's 3 and YES, it's temporary, but scrub as I might, that ding dang dern thing is slow to fade! Why do I want it off, ask those of permanent ink persuasion? :sherlock: So, I can give her another and in a different spot! Mr Nono didn't take into consideration that she's want to show it to anyone...and has almost :faint: as his little one has pulled her shirt up to show each person (usually a man) that she's seen now with ink... Yes, he's the one who put it on her when she decided on the spot. Mama Nono would have axed that idea up front!

I've got one on my lower left back - it's a heart/rose combo because of my hearts & flowers birthday of Valentines day. In reality, I should have drawn it out or had a better idea of it before I went in, chalk it up to being young and stupid. I've pretty much decided that when we have kids, I'll tell them that they can get inked if they want, but they absolutely have to have a rough sketch of what they want, and they have to have it sketched out for 1 year before they get it inked.
I've decided that I'm going to expand it after I've had kids, including them in it. I also have at least 1 other planned, that I'd like to get soon. Need to figure out how much it'll cost and save up the money, though.

nono, I can related to your story. A few years back, Ron's sister had a Jimmy Buffet party. A stop at the temp tattoo station in her basement was required/expected.
We stood in line and picked conservatively.
Problem was, Ron was going in for surgery the following Monday.
We had Sunday to get the darn thing off of his arm.
We used EVERYTHING we could think of. I was surprised he had any skin left.
We finally got solid crisco to do the trick.

Some really large tattoos take multiple sessions to complete. Mine took one session, about 2 hours. First they do the outside, then the color it in. I was told that it hurts more to get the outline, but I found the coloring in part more painful--although not horrible.
One warning: Be sure that wherever you go that they use individual inkpots for the tats, ones that they dispose of when they are done with. Some not so well run places use huge inkpots and only change the needle between clients. Theoretically, as Hepatitis can live outside the body for up to 7 days, if someone getting a tat prior to you had hepatitis, and it got into that large inkpot, you could be exposed to the disease. Of course check that they use clean, never used needles that are thrown away after single use too.

My tat story is a non existent one. Mr Roz's best friend is a very highly acclaimed tat artist and always said he would give me what ever I wanted, or help me draw something up. I've been trying to talk Mr Roz into the idea. I probably wouldn't get a Disney one, but have looked at some awesome animal one's. It's hard finding Greyhound one's though, but there are some really cool horse one, especially something on the lines of Shadowfax from LOTR. (prince of all horses, not to be tamed by any man) I can't think of something more cool than to have something so precious to me forever on my person.

Way back in the day, my ship pulled into Plymouth,England for a weekend liberty. We all headed to "The Strip" for some fun. I can remember being in a tat parlor with a handfull of guys from my division and picking out a tat of a little teddy bear semi passed out in a martini glass.
Next memory is I'm waking up to the sound of kids playing. I fell asleep against a red & white stripped lighthouse. Hours later I recalled my tat parlor experience and was relieve to find I didn't get it.

When DS went in for his heart surgery back in April - they put an arm-band temp tattoo on his arm! He didn't see it until he used the restroom about 5 hours later - he was thrilled! It stayed on for about a week. He showed it off to everyone. Too funny.

I have four, but have never been able to get good pictures of them (time for a new camera, maybe? Doesn't take good close-ups.).
I have Eeyore and Tigger on the outside and inside of my right ankle, respectively. And I have a Bird of Paradise on the right side of my chest and a pink tiger lily on the left side of my chest.
I'd like to get one more, of Honu (sea turtles), wrapped around my left ankle, next year when I'm in Maui. We'll see. Kinda like Kristy's, but in a bracelet/wrap, with flowers added.
Tattoos are addictive, that's for sure.

Usually on your shoulder as it tends to not be so sensative my calf didn't hurt much but it tends to take longer to heal as that is an area that is usually always moving. That's quiet creative! So, if more kids come along, does Goofy get to do some more painting? Or will he just faint?

I got a new tat in April just before I went to NOLA....I dont have a pic handy...
It's Disney related, if you ''get' it.
It says Touch of Destiny in the Disney font....And has a sword lying under it.

Dirk
LOL: So organist have layers......like an onion....... thats great. :hahahaha:
