Hi Everyone!. Have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with.
In two days I'll be making my first trip "home" to SSR. Have a 1BR reserved. Did not make any requests. Since I've never stayed there, I'll take what they give me (pot luck) and make my evaluations from there.
1. Is there a hair dryer in the unit?
2. If I don't want Mousekeeping to come in during my stay, do I tell them at check-in? Or call Mousekeeping directly?
3. I'll be checking out at approx. 6 AM. Will that be a problem?
4. How late does the restaurant stay open?
5. Are there any member meetings held at the resorts? If so, when are they?
Thanks!
Terri

1. Is there a hair dryer in the unit?
Yes. Every room has a hairdryer.
Here's a great room inventory that's on our website:

2. If I don't want Mousekeeping to come in during my stay, do I tell them at check-in? Or call Mousekeeping directly?
Unless you're staying for 7 nights / 8 days, you aren't scheduled to get full housekeeping services. For stays of less than that duration you only get a Trash and Towel service which is scheduled for the 4th day (counting your check-in day.) Honestly it takes about 5 minutes for housekeeping to complete this "service." They'll swap-out the towels, empty your trash and replenish a number of consumables like the toiletries and washing detergent.
If you still don't want any services, I'm guessing you'd just make the request at check-in.
3. I'll be checking out at approx. 6 AM. Will that be a problem?
Nope. Just as with other Disney resorts, they slip the bill under your door and you don't even need to come to the front desk. If you don't charge anything to your room key your balance will be $0.00. :) If you do charge to the room (or make a phone call, use Internet service, etc.) those should be the only charges and they will be automatically billed to your credit card.
4. How late does the restaurant stay open?
I think it's around 10pm, but perhaps someone else knows for certain.
5. Are there any member meetings held at the resorts? If so, when are they?
There is a weekly member meeting at Saratoga Springs. Last I heard it was held at 4pm on Wednesday's and it should last an hour. They should be able to confirm that at check-in and point out the location on your resort map.
We attended the meeting a year ago and found it enjoyable. They'll talk a little bit about buying more points (of course), but they also give you info on what's going on within DVC and at the Disney theme parks around the world. They hand out a number of door prizes so don't be afraid to sit close to the front. ;) At our meeting they also had a manager from the SSR spa to talk a bit about the services they offer.
After the meeting they had the model rooms open for anyone who wished to tour. It's a great opportunity to see a Grand Villa if you've never taken the DVC tour before.
Hope that helps.
Enjoy your trip, Terri!

Billing and 6:00 am departure:
At 6: am you may or may not have your room charge. What bothers me is that I've stopped at the front desk the day before departure and asked them NOT to put the charge under my door as I might be gone before 6. Each time they have given a non-commital answer like " we'll try..... but". Last two trips our goal was to be out by 6. Thanks to DW's spending, packing up the excess took a little longer. Each time our bill arrived about 6:15.

FYI - I'm moving this to resorts so that others looking for SSR info can find it a little easier.
I'll be at SSR Saturday. Good luck Terry!
