Anyone planning to go? We're thinking about driving up for a daytrip! I think you also get a lanyard and pin if you go!

I am thinking about it! Might be able to go down on the 29th. I have heard there are only certain times though for the preview (not sure of the times though)so not sure if I would make it.. If you do go please be sure to give us a report! :)

We were so tempted! On Christmas day SWA had a ding of $35 one way from Long Island to Orlando, our DDE card is still valid and we could have gotten a great rate for a resort. But, alas, the school schedule won out again! Since we took DS out in October for 4 days and are planning 1 day in May for Star Wars Weekends, I couldn't justify taking him out again.

Hope whoever does go has a great time and reports back here quickly :goodvibes

I saw that too! MS was closed and was afraid that if I booked there might not be any availablity for the dates I needed and size accom.. Hopefully another Ding will come up!

I will be at WDW on the 26th and 27th but I am not a coaster person. You'd have to pay me big bucks to get on that thing.

Does anyone think the pin and lanyard make it worth my while to go to AK on one of the preview days? Anyone been to one of these previews, are they mobbed? Are there any special ceremonies or anything extra special other than the pin and lanyard? If anyone has any info I'd love to know about it. :)

OK. OK The pressure got to me and I caved in. I'll be in "the World" from 1/29 till 2/3. A friend and I are taking a red eye from the west coast on Saturday, 1/28 so we can experience Expedition: Everest. Yahoo!

 We'll be there bright and early on the 28th.

What time will you be at AK?

We'll have to be prepared for HUGE crowds in Animal Kingdom. Apparently this week, they've been hitting in the 40k range for attendance. A lot of this is from Cm's and CM's signing in people for the previews.

Well, just got off EE for the second time. I guess the best thing I can say about it is that it was worth the 5+ hour flight (so you got that goin' for you leftcoaster).

Beautifully themed with an exhilerating ride, it's a true E-ticket in a park that sorely needs one.

Rinkwide!! You're killing me! Glad you're having fun, though! I can't wait to get there!

I've never been to AK.... i haven't even driven past it. It's become some sort of absurd trend now.. :scary:

it all started with "spa day".... I tell everyone (there's 6 - 8 every trip) that I have to be alone one day.... and they have to go away...far away. The first two times we did this, they just happened to choose AK. The next time we chose AK deliberately and ever since then that's what happens. I don't want to hear the silly safari spiel - that kind of thing is embarrasing to me, I don't want to get soaking wet, and I don't like live shows or dinosaurs... and of course, Cleveland has a pretty good zoo.

I don't know how to make it stop, and I'm not sure i do... is there a word for being proud of something that is so perversely stupid? Maybe that's all it is - - perverse. :upsidedow Of course, I'm not really very good at roller coasters either.. I went on RNR and thought i was going to freak out... so, there's another reason NOT to go. My family will try to shame me into riding this great looking ride. :hehehehe:

And, oh, I was probably on my verandah drinking while you were being brainwashed at the presentation! :D

Ohh, Sue, you may have to break that record soon! You only spoke to your family about AK!!!! AK is NOT a zoo! You might really want to check it out, it is soooo beautiful. Do you like really great parades? AK has a wonderful parade!

It's 10:50am on Sunday the 29th and I'm typing this on my PDA while standing in a single-rider line estimated to be about 45 minutes. The stand-by wait is running over 2 hours and all Fast Passes are already gone for the day.

And, despite all that, it's worth it. Even if you hate roller-coasters you owe it to yourself to ride this thing at least once.

Shot some on-ride video which I hope to edit and upload to Google shortly. Stay tuned.

WOW! Sounds like Sunday was even crazier than Saturday. And it was sooooo wild on Saturday. I called it slightly controlled chaos! :scary: BUT it was soooo worth any inconvenience. The ride is simply amazing! Just glad we grabbed our FPs in the morning, we walked right up to the loading area meanwhile the standby line was 90 minutes and the single rider line was 60 minutes. OUCH!
