Dining reservations filling up during mouseowners' meet time

For everyone going to the mouseowners' meet, I hope you've made your ADRs (for your own meals, not the meet ones), otherwise you might easily get shut out like I almost did. Yeah, I didn't think it was necessary to do it at exactly 180 days, and besides 12/2-12/7 is a slow time of year, or so I thought. Well, today I figured I'd at least make a few. Good thing I did! Coral Reef was already fully booked for dinner on 2 days I asked about. Fortunately, though, I was able to get a lunch there. And Boma's had only a few times available on 12/1. Either I took 6:40 or waited until 8:40! Boy, I guess the more popular resturaunts do book up early! At least I didn't have any trouble securing lunch at Grand Floridian Cafe on 12/2.

Illuminations is at 9:30 during the Mouseowners meet. I tried to book Rose & Crown for 8:00, but the closest they could give me was 7:50. For our other dining reservations I was more flexible and got pretty close to the time I wanted.

Yes, when I got lunch ressies at Le Cellier for our Segway group, I tried to get a few ressies for September and things were getting tight. But I was surprised that I was able to change a Rose n Crown ressie from 7 to 9 on our MO Illuminations viewing night. Originally planned on dinner there (my BIL loves the fish n chips and he was driving down special to 'visit' from about an hour and a half north). I thought we'd have a fun day in the parks, and then join the gang for Illuminations. THEN the 9:30 Illuminations and the only late night MK/Wishes times came out...what to do what to do. I couldnt' change to another day, but I managed to at least get a later time so we should be able to see Wishes at 8.

Oh, I know what you mean-it's so hard to predict 6 months ahead exactly where you'll be when. I'm still kind of shocked that so many people book this early. I used to think it was only Cindy's. I'm so glad you got the lunch ressies at LeCellier already. That's one place I really wanted to eat at, and waiting "this long", I probably would have had difficulty there too.

With so many of the planning and touring guides recommending you book at EXACTLY 180 days out, it is hard to get ressies. There were 3 restaurants/times my family couldn't get even at 180 days...and there were 2 that we got the restaurant we wanted, but only 1 time slot was available (I'm guessing it's because of that 180 + 10 rule)...I'm glad we did get some. I figure we're saving money on the ones we didn't get.
