Hi,
I have gone the day after thanksgiving & weeks before xmas. Points are LOW & so are crowds. Also xmas decorations are up so everything is real pretty!!!
I look forward to the day we can go for Christmas. And not really the weeks leading up, but the actual Christmas week, maybe 22-29.
Kids are just getting old enough that Santa is not the reason to stay home.

We were there December 18-26 2006. I was more than happy to skip Christmas shopping in favor of the big trip! The kids on our trip ranged in age from 14-18. We did a silly sort of gift exchange on Christmas morning, no big gifts... Except for what DH gave me:beatinghe !
We enjoyed the Osbourn light thing @ MGM, the different Santa's @ WS, and the Candlelight Processional.
We were really tired at MVMCP.
The last couple days became rainy & very crowded.
I really missed the Disney music. I love Christmas carols, but when I am at WDW I want to hear Bare Necessities & Bibbity Bobbity Bo.
So while we enjoyed ourselves, it was a great trip. I don't think I will ever want to be there on December 25 again.
It kinda felt wrong. We missed our extended family. That was just our experience though.
We loved the trip we took the week after Labor Day! Nice Weather & no crowds!

We were there for Valentine's Day this year and it was mostly uneventful. They did some sort of wedding ceremony at the castle for a contest winner, and I thought it was a joke.
We were at the park near opening and CMs lined the street keeping people at bay while the bride prepared to ride by on her carriage. I still chuckle wondering if she thought we actually CARED when she rode by waving to us like some sort of MVP. Get a grip, honey. We're not here to see you! :hahahaha:
We visited a couple of weeks before Christmas before and I was disappointed. Biggest disapointment was the weather. Traveling 1100 miles to spend a week in jeans and a jacket isn't my idea of a Florida vacation. We liked the Osborne lights, but thought MVMCP was mostly a waste of money. It was neat seeing the decorations, but overall I enjoy our trips during other times of the year much better.
Someday I'd like to be there for the 4th of July.

We avoid the holidays! I do like the first few weeks of December...you get most of the Holiday benefits but less crowds. But we would never do actual Christmas there.
Growing up, we used to go every year for Thanksgiving week....back in the day. So for nostalgic reasons, I might consider that. But doubtful LOL
We also did Christmas & Easter a few times. I remember being a kid and getting candy stockings & Easter baskets left outside the room at the Poly. They were all down the hallways. It was such a cool thing! Do they still do that at the resorts? I imagine they did away with that a long time ago.....just too many dern rooms at WDW now.

I love Halloween, something about that time of year, F&W and MNSSHP really appeals to me. :loveisint
I would love to go Christmas one year, not really do a lot of parks, but resort hop and be AWAY from family would be priceless to us. :upsidedow
Since we live in the humid south, we love going down in Winter. Something about walking around bundled up with a tangerine coffee, always a good memory. There are trade offs, as we do miss our pool time. Now I don't like freezing, that was Feb before last trip. I thought my face was going to freeze waiting on Illuminations. That is Florida weather for you, can't depend on it for nada. So we would do holidays for cooler weather, but nothing like packing for a 30 degree difference in a matter of days. So our favorite holidays are in cooler months. November is one of our favorite months, before the crowds, with the decorations.
I have done 4th of July when I was kid. In a canvas tent at FW. I'd do it again, but must have air conditioning. The fireworks are still fresh in my mind, that incredible, and that was late 70s, I can't imagine how they are now. Wowser!

Just after Thanksgiving...the crowds are gone, the Xmas decs are up, the weather (3 trips now) is near perfect, and it's value points season!!!!
So 'near' a holiday..this would have to be it. The Sunday after turkey day is not that crowded (tho ThursandFriandSat generally is) ..a good day to arrive.
