In case you haven't looked at your calendar lately, tomorrow (9/30) is basically ME's last day on the job for The Walt Disney Company. While most agree it's time for him to move-on, I think that few can really appreciate everything that he has done for the company over the last 20 years.
Anyone interested in gaining some historical perspective on ME's tenure with TWDC should check out this article from Kevin Yee:

I think 95% of what Kevin says here is spot-on.
We fans of the Disney theme parks really have a lot for which to thank Eisner. The parks division would have been an easy target to be sold-off. Remember back in the mid-80s there were only two theme parks and a half-dozen resorts. Imagine the parks being acquired by Six Flags. Imagine all of the undeveloped land at WDW being sold off to hotel chains, mall developers and dozens of other businesses.
It's not a pretty thought, and it was closer to reality than most people will ever realize.
