FINALLY, southwest released fares for April 2006! I was able to book the lowest fares for coming back from WDW, but now I'm waiting for a DING, or other special fare, on the trip to WDW. I didn't get "authorization" from work to get the tickets myself and not use our travel agent until after the March cheap fares were sold-out. =\

Anyway, if anyone has been waiting for the Apri 2006 fares, they are out there! I think May is out there too!

good luck!!!

I think March this year will be very, very popular.

I would go buy the ticket then apply the discount (if you get one).

SW is very good about applying discount (you don't get a refund - but you can use the money on your next ticket)

I was waiting for the April fares coz we needed April 1st for our spring break trip, but while on this trip (at BWV now) we decdied to cancel it... We need a break from the World.... Kids arent as tickled to be here as they used to be... WDW is becoming Normal and not Speical.....

I agree but wanted to add that the credit expires 1 year from the [i]original[/] purchase date. We've done this several times. If you travel alot, it's not a problem. I've heard that SWA will sometimes extend that date for up to 6 months but I haven't had to try it yet.

Some June dates are out so July shouldn't be too far out. :)

Uggghh....My dates are out for April 30th thru May 5th and Southwest is at $125 each way per person. Internet Special! I need to get 6 tickets round trip! I REALLY hope this comes down! I think last year I was able to get SW about this same time for $79- I just keep checking and checking. Dings areent out that far yet as I have seen-

If you dont mind me asking...:)...what did you guys book your April fare at?

Yeah, I missed out on the internet and special rates for our outgoing flight. I've been watching for DING rates, but I haven't gotten any DING notifications in the past couple of days.

Of course I'm not really expecting anything now as all the seats are sold for the outbound flight except for the non-refundable (which is what I had to buy).

Still... round-trip for $200.... but I can usually get tix for around $150 or less rt....

I wouldn't hold my breath too much on Southwest's fares coming down. =( Their longterm fuel contracts ran out so, they are paying a lot more for fuel. That's part of why they were able to keep fares down so much. I generally fly about 8 roundtrips a year on Southwest and the fares just aren't what they used to be.

Oh no! We got wayyyy to spoiled with those cheap SW fares the last few years. I knew it couldn't last forever. :crymeariv

I think some great fares will be out there. We just won't be able to "count on getting them" like we used to. I used to automatically assume that I'd get a $39 fare to NorCal and budget accordingly. Now, I have to "assume" around $65 and hope to get it down.
