How I managed to rip a tendon and win a vacation, Day 2:So I love playing tennis, taking salsa classes, and beach volleyball at my Paradise Village resort. Since I hadn’t rec’d the activity sheet at checkin, I wasn’t able to sign up for the tennis tournament this morning . Ok, no problema, off to the beach then. Saw some guys I knew from last year playing v-ball. Invited to play. Setter passed me the ball, but it went out of bounds. I thought I could bring it in. But when did they start using REAL tape to mark the boundary lines? As I kinda jumped to reach the ball, I looked down to see that tape stuck in my toes . Oh-oh. As I fell, all stretched out to hit the ball, I thought: sand, it’ll be ok. But it ‘s not. I hear a pop as I land hard on my elbow. Hurts bad. Scramble up, but the pain is more than the sear of crazy bone pain. Jump in pool before I start crying like a baby. Helps some. But damn. Two hours later, it is still hurting. A lot. I fashion a sling out of my pareau and that helps. Tried to read my book to take my mind off of it and that helps some. Gather my stuff and one arm it back to my room. Decide to go to the owner’s party, hoping that tequila will numb the pain.
Did I ever mention that I never win anything? Especially at bingo. So when we began the BIngo game…cover all squares on the Bingo card before yelling Quesadilla!!! I'm sure I won't break my no win record. But I do! Quesadilla mama! I went to retrieve my winnings, expecting a bottle of tequila, but I’m told that I won a bonus week to Paradise Village!!!! And that made my hurting arm feel ever so much better! Ah, another week in Paradise. :jumpingbe
I wish that I took more photos at this resort (especially since that was about all I could do with my hurting elbow and muy margarta consuption. But I didn't . I had fun relaxing in my huge studio, reading, swimming (one armed) and meeting new friends, but basically waiting until DD arrived on Thursday.
Weeks fly when you’re having fun!..Day 4-14:
My daughter was supposed to arrive by noon. Her flight was cancelled and she actually arrived at midnight. Shall we say, not a happy camper? We sat on the balcony at Paradise Village and drank a bottle of wine until 2 am.. Mom and daughter vacation was fun….well, for the first week anyway! Saturday was moving day…up the beach to Playa Del Sol Grand. $8 taxi ride. We had one week in a one bedroom and one in a studio. The one bedroom was ocean front; the waves pounded the shore all night..I loved it. This resort is much smaller than PVR. I loved that we could walk along the beach fifteen minutes to Bucerias, have dinner, and stroll back ‘home ‘ again.
Here's a few pics of my newest timeshare (EBAY) purchase:

You all know by now what a car control freak I am...and we weren't planning on renting a car til after Santa Semana (Easter). That first week, we hung at the resort, sunning and reading and doing water aerobics for our little bit of exercise. My most fun evening was walking into Bucerias, the fishing village about 15 minutes of beach walking away, having a bucket of beers at a beachside restaurant (5 for $4) and watching sunset. (Refer back to the Pacifico photo!)Then we headed over to ROOTS, a vegan restaurant, and had dinner while watching a movie in the backyard. Amazing how clear a picture just using a sheet for the screen! The walk back after dinner in the moonlight was a lot of fun...we snagged a couple of those bottles of beer (we aren't lushes, after all!) and DD said that if anyone tried to accost us she would bang em over the head with her purse (containing said bottles) and then we could drag em into the water. Ah, my hero!:holymoly:
We ended up renting a car on Thurday, to head into PV for meet up with some friends from colorado (I hadn't met them yet but we post to the same Puerto Vallarta board and yep, I'm CB there too!) and then go out to dinner at one of the restaurants high up on the hill above the city offering a Panoramic View. I have to mention the Pirate Ship that sails nightly from the harbor...On the way in, they set off fireworks...always a different place every night. I mean...it is SO DISNEY!!!!!!
And no, I don't think my photo came out, but I do remember taking one...maybe with my phone camera????
A week is about long enough with a 25 year old DD. After that, she starts to get on my nerves: she wasn’t too happy with my driving (hey, I only ran one red light!), nor my eating (she insists that I should eat more carbs, (bless her svelte 25 year old bod), nor my trying to joke her out of her moods. She can be a true beahchay when she sets her mind to it!
But I was still sad to see her go.! She's my one and only, and I just don't get to see her all that often. She is really fun to travel with, even tho she can still push my buttons, but all the same Im so glad she still likes to vaca with her mama!
Took her to the airport on Sunday and picked up my friend from here in Summit County and her son and his friend on Monday. They were staying at PVR and I was moving into a studio at my second resort.
