No luck changing avatar photo

I was trying to change my avatar using a photo from Photobucket which I resized to fit in required space.
Tried the http and the img:

but keep getting 'invalid file'

Can you help?

The problem might be the size of your avatar photo. These are the restrictions for avatar photos:

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

If you have a qualifying photo, just enter the URL in the space provided on the "Edit Avatar" option in the User Control Panel.

Photobucket might not be sizing it down to the proper dimensions.

OK - I checked out the properties on your photo. It's the proper size (100 x 75 fits in the box allowed), but the file size is too large. It's 52k when it should be no larger than 19.2kb What you'll need to do is decrease the quality in your Save As JPG setting in whatever program you used to get it like that to begin with, then upload it photobucket and try again.

AHA! Lets see if I can do what you suggest. I knew I had made it smaller in size, but now I must make it less resolution. Good job, Dirk....I'll report back as to my success!
