I have so far located the Winn Dixie (left out of WDW at Crossroads and down on the right hand side of the road) and Walmart Super Center (right out of WDW at Crossroads and on the right hand side of the road), but where is the local Publix?

Ever been to the Disney Character Premier outlet store at the Orlando Premium Outlets? If so, they recently built a Publix just outside the perimeter of the outlet stores.

We usually stop at both Publix and the outlet store on our arrival day since they are so close. Kill two birds with one stone.

It's also next to a Walgreens, and there is a Starbucks in the Premium outlets so all very convenient.

Plus it's a very clean and usually pretty quiet Publix.

We have never shopped the outlets while down there. Which outlet grouping is this one? If I were exiting DTD from Crossroads would I turn right and then its on the left after going back under the interstate or is it in a totally different area?

Turn right as you noted, then left once you go under I-4. I believe that the left turn is marked as the Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine. Drive past the Marriott complex (Springhill Suites/Courtyard/Fairfield) and the outlets are on your right. Keep going around that road past Dolly Parton's dinner show and the Publix is on your left.

Hope that helps!

Yup...bavaria's directions sound right to me. It's a little hard to find the first time.

The outlet store is worth a trip alone. It's all legitimate WDW merchandise--either closeouts, overruns or out-of-season stuff. Most of it is 50% off of the WDW price. In fact, it's not all that uncommon that we'll see items at the outlets that are still at WDW for full price.

You know those Disney golf shirts with the course logos on them that are about $55-60 each? We pay about $25 for the same shirt at the outlets. They have clothes for both kids and adults...some toys...glass or ceramic items...a pretty good representation of the variety at the parks.

If you really want to hit the mother lode, get over to the Belz outlets. That's about a 20 minute trip from WDW...right near Universal Studios. Belz has two (maybe three) Disney outlet stores. Since Belz is a bit further from WDW, we always find a better selection than the Premier store.

If I had to pick one over the other, my choice would be the Belz locations. But if you're already going to Publix there's no reason not to hit outlet right there.

oooooooooooo

Got it now! I wasn't realizing I had to go back towards the Dixie Stampede, but I know exactly where those outlets are and can surely find the Publix now!

Thank you. :)

If you know where Dixie Stampede is, you're probably within sight of Publix. If you're driving around where Dixie Stampede is on your left, you're about 15 seconds away from seeing Publix on the same side of the road.

If you're staying at AKL or Coronado, there are 3 Publixes on 192 that are closer. Take Sherberth Road (another of our deep, dark secrets) to 192 and turn right at the light. The Publix's are on the right, the first in a shopping center a few blocks from Sherberth Road.

Chimera, would that be a better choice as well from BCV/BWV thinking off all the traffice that sometimes occurs over out by the crossroads area?

Does Sherbeth get busy?

thanks

IMO, the fastest Publix to get to is the one on I-Drive & I-192. Just drive out of WDW on Oceola Parkway and turn right at the traffic light where the massive Garlord Palms resort is. It's about a half mile down on the left, just before the traffic light for 192.
