I just did! Maybe it seems kind of early, but I was hoping to use Frequent Flier miles, and when you see them, you don't wait! Unfortunately I have to leave on the 6th, but at least I get to have a few extra days on the beginning-I arrive 11/29! Now I just have to call MS to see if they can give me a DVC room for those extra days (I'll bet I'll have to wait list). I'm so excited-it's really real now. So, CB, bring on those Segways!

We are off to the races! I haven't booked air yet, but I trust SWA to treat me right when the time comes.:beatinghe .

Nope, not yet...I am waiting for JetBlue to release their December flights first! Hopefully soon!

Not yet. I'll fly Airtran and while they are out and prices are good, I'm just waiting a bit to see if they will go down since it is a quiet time to fly.

I booked my flight back in March with USAirways. I like to travel early out and late back, so if I don't book early, the cheapest flights go away!

Nope not yet nothing in any price range I like yet Southwest is still not opening flights for Dec and Spirit is close at 89.00 each way from Detroit and Airtran is the same but all flights I have found are 3 PM or later. So this may end up being another driving trip Woo Hoo I hope so I love teh drive LOL.

No plane tickets yet here either, waiting on Jet Blue to release airfares for December. It was only a few weeks ago I was able to secure my end of September trip flight from them.

I did grab my airtran flights about a month ago at $84. We love that nonstop from Rochester to Orlando. And in February it never went lower than $79. It may change back to 12:30pm to 3:15pm, but right now the flight down is 9am to 11:30am!! LOVE THAT! We even planned in the extra day coming in (1 night at POP) based on the other flight time so now we'll have even more extra time.

You got me all excited about a 9am flight so I had to check. The flight time down is currently back to 12:43 -> 3:16pm. Although I'm sure it will bounce around. I was excited to see the return is at 6pm.:woohoo: I like that! (they are also still at $84 each way)
I think I'm mostly delaying because ...well I'm lazy. Really, buying the plane tickets is a firm commitment and I'm a little hesitant about going down alone. No valid reason just have never gone on vacation alone. The should I leave the kids, spend the money, will I enjoy it, etc. Also, waiting a bit will mean more time to book a flight if I have to cancel and get a credit.

I would really enjoy going down ahead a day or two alone!! I don't thing DH or kids would go for it though.
We're headed out 12/1 and back 12/11 flight down is still listed from
9-11:33am at $99(the$84 I grabbed is gone), and back is 9:09-11:43am at $84. The going home is a little early but after 10 nights I'm going to be SOOOO sad to leave it might be best to just get up and go!
Haven't even looked yet for airfare. Couldn't afford it right now anyway.
May is a rough cashflow month for us.

If you've never vacationed alone before, WDW is a great place to start! And there'll be some others of us who are going by ourselves, so you won't really be alone.

We are going to book this next payday. I have a big chunk of overtime coming as they are working me 6pm - 7am 7 days a week right now. I could do it now but I would have to transfer funds from the home equity line of credit, and I am trying to pay it down! Our fare on Midwest will unfortunately come to almost $1200 after taxes. No one offers those $84 fares from Seattle. Of course my wanting to fly a little bit better than standard coach doesn't help.
Just did ours yesterday. Sat. Dec. 1 flights to MCO already tightening up out of Newark, so being the flexible person I am, we are now all flying to TPA instead and spending a night with friends. Since we were renting a car this trip anyway, that's a wash ('cept for the additional gas cost). We saved about $40 a plane ticket, are flying at the times we want, get to see good friends, and still fly out of MCO for the way home.

Forgot about this thread! I am booked now, $99 each way from JFK to MCO for me and my daughter. Hoping it goes down like my september fare did (ended up paying $130 r/t for that one after originally booking it for $198 r/t).
I like taking the REALLY early flight (630 AM) but could not convince DD to take that one. So we are on the 8AM, arriving about 11 to MCO. Booked DME too! :woohoodan

Whew! That's about what we pay, on a good day. Mar' was making me feel like "Boy, we really live in the wrong place for WDW trips!" (But I know we live in the wrong place-hopefully, that'll change in a few years). I just got an airfare of $215 RT on Southwest next month, and I was thrilled beyond belief. I had no intention of going to WDW in September, but when I saw the price of airfare, I knew I'd be  not to go. For here, great airfare!

It really does amaze me that although I live further away than many folks, that the fares from JFK are rarely over $99 each way and usually $59-$79 each way. I guess it has to do with JFK being a hub for so many airlines?

Yep, I think you're right, Mar, in that many airlines have JFK as their hub, and the fact that there are SO many incoming and outgoing flights would play a part on your ticket prices.

I'd love to pay $59 each way. But being stuckup here at MSP, NWA holds just about all the cards so they charge through the nose.
My airfare is sitting at $268 round trip right now per person. I'm giving it a week. If it hasn't budged any lower, I'm just going to do it so I know I have my airfare.
Oh, I'm flying Nov 30-Dec8

Wow! Spirit has some great fares, but they don't fly into Orlando from Chicago, which really stinks!!!!!
SWA is just too high for me to book right now. AA has the fare for $178 roundtrip, so I'm debating if I should just book my airfare there.

I booked my airfare this morning...NWA had perfect times for us for $254 RT pp Nov 30-Dec 8. That includes all taxes and fees. Not ideal, but I don't think airfare's going to move much and given that I'm travelling Fri-Sat, I figured I better just get 'er done.
Just feeling SO relieved to have it purchased.

SWA had great flights into/out of Orlando this summer and I managed to get an early NS and late NS home for the Sept trip. But December is showing that those two flights aren't there in Dec. It looked like the promotional fare was about gone (it was on Dec 1) so I went ahead and booked flying in on Dec 2 . With SWA if I find something better I can just get a credit...that still seems so cool to me.
Looks like I won't be at the BW until 3 or so though. Drat.
Oh $109 one way with taxes.

Oh boy... I have got myself in a mess-
i booked myself and ds using SW rewards. Free flights for Ds and I but I still have to book my 2 dd's- $318 pp rountrip! Im wondering if I should just DO IT and book them to make sure we are on the same flight. Try to "justify" it by thinking $636 for 4 people?
I usually dont stress over the flights as a Ding has always come my way- but Im nervous that it just wont happen. I think the most I ever paid for a rt during that time frame from Ct. was $170 something each rt...

I know what you mean, Laura. I'm facing the same dilemna. Now I used my free flight for our October trip, but I do have about $130 in credits that I intend to use for our December flights, but it's just so hard to pay that $129 one way. Dings have been VERY few and far between. I got a very good rate for September, $126.60 round trip, so I think I'm going to hold out a little while longer with the anticipation that a ding, or at least a lower airfare will surface. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

We had ours booked months ago until Midwest changed their schedule making it impossible to get there. I tried SW, but they had really bad schedules for us and United was only about $20 a ticket more, had a slightly better schedule and earned us enough miles for a first class upgrade I booked them last week. We are still flying 12/1-12/8 with a rewards points stay at the airport Fairfield Inn on first and last nights.

Question: do your dings pop up on screen OR do you have to remember to click the icon on your computer?
I actually got a ding fare for the MISSED flight and because I used an old about to expire voucher, I may have lost the money...haven't yet called to see.
CAn't remember WHAT I've booked, but because of the 25,000 mile award that I used to get to WDW re my fated escalator mishap...I think I'm flying back on United. I think I need a whole file devoted to SWA to keep things straight. As it is I have stuff on computer as 'upcoming trips' but with all those confirmation numbers, I get easily confused. $200 RT is about what I pay from Colorado (plus the taxes)...$10 less on a DIng.
