Is there any place in Downtown Disney that I would be able to pick up a copy of this book??

Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies (http://www.amazon.com/Pirates-Caribbean-Kindom-Movies-Welcome/dp/1423107098/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/002-1944406-8089651?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1178110553&sr=8-2)

They have a pretty good selection of books in the scrapbooking shop. I'm almost positive they would have it there. The only problem might come if they happened to be out of stock.

They also still have a few books in the little coffe shop around the corner from Sci Fi at MGM.

Ideally you'll want to get the edition that was updated in November '06. The original print doesn't have any info on the 2nd and 3rd films, nor on last year's attraction upgrades. The revised edition has the same cover but includes a small seal in the upper right that indicates it has been revised. I haven't purchased the new edition yet myself, but you might as well get the most recent version.

Amazon has it in stock (with free shipping if you spend over $25) and it's even 20% off of the cover price. If you buy at WDW it will certainly be at the cover price.

BTW, the author, Jason Surrell, also has a great book about the Haunted Mansion. It was a tie-in with the HM film release, but IIRC only about 15% of the book even deals with the film. Most of it is a look at this history of the attraction with a walk-thru of all 3 variations (WDW, DL and Paris).

Jason is a former Imagineer and he has two more books in the works--one a look at the important people behind WDI and the other about all of Disney's "mountains" (Splash, Space, Big Thunder, Matterhorn and Everest.)

I've met Jason on several occasions, and have all of the books he's written so far, except for the updated POTC book. We even had an interview with him for the Tell No Tales website (http://www.tellnotales.com/insiders.htm).

I will try to remember to ask KN at DWWOM this weekend to see if they are stocking it. Since they moved the photo pass out of that shop, they put a book & magazine section back in.

Virgin Megastore may have it, but I have felt that their book selection is not the greatest....

Not necessary. I ordered two copies through Amazon (no, both copies are not for me).

Rita, I think that is the book that I sent to JamJarJo's kids in a box of goodies I bought for them at the Disneyland outlet store which was near Skelster and I.

It was a VERY good bargain; sadly I was only there for a short time and didn't get a chance to go back, or I would have bought some copies for Mouseowners.... it was a fraction of the actual cost.

SORRY! (hanging my head in shame....)
