As you may know, the Stave Church exhibit in Norway has been replaced with the recently opened Viking exhibit. It's a basic exhibit highlighting three famous vikings and a viking ship. I always enjoyed the Stave Church exhibit, but it has been around for a long time and it was good to see changes here.

Having seen major exhibits in York (UK), Newfoundland, and the Smithsonian, this is a very basic introduction (how much could they really fit in a small area??) I could see the appeal to children and encourage any educational additions to Epcot.

For those of you who like the original music inside the church, it's gone, but you can download it on several sites (search Jan Gaberic and the Hilliard Ensemble/Officium)

OH SO GLAD that you responded!!! :beaniepro Just for you!!

This opened in late November and I expect that it will last for a few years before they change it out, like we see in China and Japan with their exhibits.

I'll miss the Stave Church. I thought the models and photos were so pretty! I always loved stopping in here!

I can't believe with a Swedish DW and all the times we have gone to the Norway pavilion that we haven't been in the Stave Church. I didn't know you could go in there. Well, we are bringing our other Scandi friends next month, so we will have to make sure to visit this exhibit. It's funny watching our DD(4) try and speak swedish to the Norwegian CMs. It always catches them off-guard.

I can't say as we've ever been inside the Stave Church in the Norway pavillion either, and it's always been one of our fav' visits at Epcot.
I'm still missing the Princess-free Akershus, but we're biting the bullet and going for dinner anyway, just for the Norwegian food (plus DD - 6 will like all the Princess contact too).
