Am I the only DVC member nut who actually uses the discount here?

I mean someone else here has to love it too....:hammer: :duck: :wearenumb

Never been to the one in DD.

Actually never found the one in DD.

Have been to the one in DTD.

My DH always tries to sneak in for his Big Mac but I usually refuse since we eat too much McD's at home. Then he involves the kids....."wouldn't you love a Happy Meal??" All I have to do to turn the tide is remind them they make cheeseburgers with mustard down there! :ROTFL: Surprisingly neither the kids or DH has figured out you can special order them without the mustard. :Pssst:

If we were to eat there, I would definitely use the DVC discount. But we don't do McDonald's (we also don't do Burger King, Arby's, Hardees, Wendy's, etc).

But we do use our DVC discount at Wetzel's Pretzels (love the pretzel wrapped hot dog).

I love love love McD's. My waistline hate hate hates it. :goob:

We would likely not use the discount. We do DDP so are too stuffed to want more, and there are so many more choices that we would go for even if we did.

However, stopping on the way down....

Ketchup and mustard is a regional thing? Hmm - I need to go to my NJ McD's to get my Quarter Pounder for a Mouseonwer exclusive investigation.

Now mustard based barbecue in SC is the only way to go. Never quite recovered from the shock of moving to NC and discovering ketchup based. Don't even get me started on NJ.

That's only western/lexington NC. Try eastern NC vinegar based sauce. That's good eats.
I like SC mustard too.

I'm a ketchup-based BBQ girl... living in the dead center of red-pepper/vinegar based BBQ.

I think they make them with scrapple in Philly.

Is it true that there's a new MouseOwner's Special using Sesame Seed Duvets?

I'll admit it we've used it in the past. The day after our cruise we had time to burn and went shopping at DTD. Hey a discount is a discount and the kids were in the mood for the a happy meal. We caved.

My guide won't let me eat there. I guess he knows that if I stay healthy longer I could be in the market for more points. If your guide let's you eat there, you know hwat you need!

BTW, I really did just get a new guide! A nice phone call and everything. Though he didn't know what to say when I asked if he, like my previous guide, was willing to make my reservations for me. :viking:

Wouldn't that be funny...getting "healthy lifestyle" pamphlets and coupons for organic products from our guides. In reality though, it really is in their best interest that we also stay healthy and energetic so we can visit often and spend the whole day in the parks, rather than needing to go back to the villa for a break cause we're so out of shape we can't get around anymore.

But then again I guess that's what ecv's are for.

Anyway, I am looking forward to putting the new guide to work someday. DW has add-on-itis and if she sees AKV this August I know exactly what might happen.

I am allergic to Pepper - plus a bunch of other things. It is very, very, very hard to find anything in DD or SSR - without pepper.

believe me I looked for several hours. I think I went to ever restuarant, counter service, snack place at DD. they all told me the pepper was on it when it was delivered.

so MacDonalds win - they can cook without pepper.

Now Dirk lets be civil here, not all of us can be proud Garden State residents*. That's why there is a South, for all you NJ Wannabees!

Yo, Peace-Out to your bad self!!

I know where the McDs is located at DTD. As for the DVC discount if there is a discount my DW would not have a problem using it.

I've always preferred to eat at more of a themed restaurant if possible... is the DTD McD anything more special than a normal McD?

If you like Micky D's and have a car, then you should experence the one up off I-4 and Sand Lake Road. It only takes about 10 minutes to get to it and it is one the travel channel lists in its top 10. It is different from the run of the mill McDonalds and has a huge play area. Don't think there are any discounts though.

DH tried to use DVC discount at McD at DTD and was told, "we don't give discounts"....must have been a new McDonald's employee huh?

Not to hijack this thread but TW1, how did you get a new guide, did you have to beg to some supervisor?

I've heard about that one, but never saw it in person. Doesn't it get really crowded? Is it too big for my son who's just shy of 5 yo? Something for a nearly 3yo?

The only time we go to Mickey D's is when they have Disney Happy Meal toy's or My little Pet Shops, or Polly Pocket, or you get the picture. You can always tell what the toy is by my waistline. Are the DTD Mc'D toys special??

I'm embarrassed to say we visit (and look forward to it) the DTD McDonald's everytime we go to WDW. We very rarely do fast food anymore...so the kids look forward to a meal there more than they do the more popular TS restaurants!

Don't be embarassed! Be proud!

I buy my kids affection with trips to McDonalds waaaaay to often so going on vacation is no big deal. Its those darn shiny plastic bits they pass off as toys that have us hooked. And now they serve Ice Coffee so I'm sucked in too. You can imagine what it's like when they are Disney toys!!!

There are rumors here in CA that McDonald's is losing it's deal with Disneyland. All the french fry stations, and Burger Invasion are said to be removed soon.

We've eaten there, but it sure is loud because it is so large. We try to eat outside if the weather is nice. A lot of construction for TRex was going on this year, so it was not quite as pleasant. We don't visit McDonald's on a regular basis at home, just once in a while. I personally love their salads and their yogurt parfaits, but the French fries are great.....just not too often! :goodvibes

-----------
you have to take out the blue card and put it under their faces.

they always seem to think it my resort key and I am trying to charge something.
--------------------
which guide do you want - call her/him and see if they can change for you.

mind definitely did. got assigned a person I didn't know when my guide left - so called the very nice lady who was subbing for mind - brought a couple of add on from her already - so she arranged the change.

if your guide is not looking after you - or not returning your calls - definitely just call the 1-800 (not the guide) general sales phone and ask for a different one.

We do! Its cheap, especially with the discount and my DS4 would rather go there than just about any place else. Well, except for Pizza Planet...his fave! I wish they'd give us a discount there!!
