...trying to view a thread in these forums.....
This is the thread I keep sending to him...http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7949

and his response is:
Tried, and tried, and tried to get in but I'm not a DVC member and when I tried to "join" it kept saying I had given wrong name of "referring member", so you can check out what the deal is w/SW and let me know.

He shouldn't have to be a registered member to view the thread, correct? I am not sure why he has my user name wrong...I told him he could sign up as "doombuggy's dad" if he wanted. I guess he's having a senior moment?
Or maybe I blasted his brain when i called him from the Tony Orlando Flower power concert Friday? Can you guys give me a hint on this?

Seriously.

You mean your Dad can't open the link without being forced into a log-on screeen?

I tried to access your link without being logged onto MO's and it worked fine.
My suggestion would be to have him (not from a link) file/open 'http://www.mouseowners.com/forums'...then ask him to click on 'transportation' and look for the thread title (I think it's in the top 5-10).

It should work.

It worked for me as well. I'm a little confused about his reference to DVC member and wonder if he somehow got onto the DVC website? He should be able to open any directly linked thread on MO. Non-members just don't get advanced search privileges, posting privileges, or possibly the "previously read" indicators.

It should work as you have it. Is it possible his security settings are somehow blocking his ability to access the forum? Maybe review the setting or make MO a trusted site. Some setting on mine keeps me from logging in unless I click on the remember me block, but it never kept me from viewing posts...just from posting myself since I was logged out almost immediately upon logging in.

I think he was having a senior moment.......and has finally gotten it straight.
Or maybe he was sniffing too much paint:

Yes, he has taking up painting in the past several years. He is an architect, so he's a bit artsy as it is. I keep trying to get him to paint a little Calif Screamin' for me, but shhh that's a secret (not that he's done it for me.........)

He's been in several Phila. area art shows, but Yellow Springs is his favorite. It's a historical community in Chester Co., PA, not too far from Valley Forge. Ghost1000 could probably give a better description than that....
I will pass on your wishes - thanks! (He's in Erie today).

Lately, he has been into rollercoasters and art deco movie theaters. A few years ago he did one of some old diner (I think) in San Francisco that had a trolley car in it. His best friend ended up buying it, and I always felt it was because the trolley car looked like the trolley cars we used to have in Phila......funny thing is, I never saw any of those type of trolley cars in SF.....

Dad said thanks for the good wishes....tomorrow night is opening night and he'll just make it back from Denver...
