Due to some medical issues and other stuff, I haven't really been up to date on our DVC as I would like to be. I used to check in on DVC stuff on another board daily :shhh: I feel so lost lately! LOL I'm trying to get caught up.
Anyway, has anyone received the dues in the mail yet? I thought we've had them earlier than this last year but so far nothing yet.
Any other DVC developments since September I should know about? :sherlock:
Thanks!

I haven't received mine yet. I went to the SSR meeting and I believe they said they would be going out the last week in December.

Oh, and '06-'07 annual planners and resort budgets are already in the mail (though the distribution processes are quite a mystery, as you can see in this thread: http://www.dvcboards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=705)

I'd say the biggest things would be:
1. DVC members will receive access to the Disney Dining Plan beginning in April.
2. Annual amount of annual dues increases (nearly 10% at OKW.)
3. Current SSR promotion of $83.30 per point for add-ons of 120 pts or more.
You should be able to find details on these here in the forums without having to look too hard.
Oh, and the AP perk is certain to continue into 2006.

Historically DVC dues statements have been received at my home the week between Christmas & New Years.

I called Member Accounting today and there was a recorded message, saying they'd be mailed out my 12/30.

Has anyone with two or more contracts ever paid one in January and the other in February? My optimal way to pay would be to charge one contract to my Disney Visa in Jan and the second one in Feb. That would spread the joy out for two months and make it a bit easier when the bill comes:hammer: :beaniepro

Lisa,
I think Disney charges $25 if you are late on the dues so if it justifies the spacing between months that might be the only downside.
Alternatively, paying monthly doesn't cost you anything extra and you get to hang on to your money a little longer.
Hope that helps!

Thanks, Shontell! Last year, Disney gave until Feb 15 to pay dues on time if I remember correctly. Dh and I do not prefer to have bank checking account drafts. Now if Disney would draft my Disney Visa for a monthly dues payment, I would be extremely happy:handshake

Yes, I've been hoping for the credit card monthly option for years!
Be careful of the due date on annual fees....I thought 1/15 was the cut off....then again, maybe 2/15 includes a 30 day grace period.
Let me know if you can negotiate the card thing for all of us!
All the best,
Shontell

Oh I would so love monthly dues by credit card. I think the reason why they don't do it is because DVC or DVD (whatever you want to call them) wouldn't get the full amount. I think the industry standard is 4% fee to have them use the credit card so I can see why they would want to use bank draft instead.
The statements are available online now if you want to get a head start and pay early :ROTFL:
DVC likely pays a lower fee to VISA since Disney has a lot of clout with the volume the company puts through the system. They pay the fee now on full payments online or over the phone; but if they get the money in one lump sum up front it is probably worth the discount to them.

That is correct. DVC dues are due and payable on Jan. 15 - but members are allowed a no penalty grace period extending until Feb. 15.

Wait a minute....I am confused...I have been having direct withdrawel from an account monthly. These $'s are my dues correct? I checked on line and it reads that I have a chunky balance for '06. I did not finance and paid cash for all my points. I dont have to pay this total amount in Jan right? It will just continue to withdraw the dues on a monthly basis...?

If you're having the dues deducted monthly, you don't have to do a thing. You should be receiving a statement from accounting shortly that indicates how the debit amount is changing for 2006. You can pretty much ignore the stated deadlines for making dues payments. DVC will always consider you current as long as the funds are available when each debit is applied.
