:( DH sounded very interested at first. When I showed him the webiste last night, no so much. :( He's probably right. We have way too much going on in the fall adn way too many expenditures. I can hope, though. ;)

Talked to my DW last night and we decided to cancel our RFTT reservations and I just booked for ToT 13K. Airline res changed and rebooked DVC. Only able to get SSR so we are in for 10/19-10/30. :D
Sounds like too much fun:)
Carrie, there's always hope:yes:

DW and I were talking about doing the RFTT this year, but yesterday we decided to do the ToT run. Booked a room, and I'll wait until later for flights.
Hmmmm, Denny -- we may make a go of this...just spoke with Mr Nono about it....

You can now reg for ToT at http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com/dwws/en_US/endurance/events/detail?name=EnduranceTowerofTerror13K2007RegisterD etailPage . For all DVC'ers, they will be offering a discount app that I should be getting in a few days from Disney. Will let you know when I get it and will add it to my website.

I am really really really intrigued!! This would be just after the member cruise and we would be down there anyway . . . . .
Oh decisions, decisions. It sure would be fun. I think I could definatly handle the 6.5K by then but the 13 I am not so sure.
ARGHHH!!!

It doesn't look like there are any time limits for this one like the marathons though. Am I correct??????
ETA:
Because if there isn't a limit, my oldest (who will be 11 in October) would like to try it.

I have heard there will be a 16 min/mile pace for the race.

Well, in grand Disney style I have conflicting reports. My email said a 16 min per mile pace. I called the phone number listed to confirm and was told a 15 min per mile pace for the 13K.
Also for the 6.5K he said that there is also at 15 minute per mile pace BUT they are giving them a little extra time since it will go along the same route and starts at the same time. The 6.5K participants have until the 13K people finish to complete the race.
They also will have check points to maintain. I forgot to ask how they would know if you are a 13K or 6.5K when coming to the checkpoints?
I called 407-938-3398 if anyone is interested.
So there you have it, looks like it is a 15 min per mile pace for both races.

I have found out from Disney(via email) that there will be ONLY ONE medal for the race. That means 6.5K and 13K get the same medals.
Also, they said no course map until "sometime in Summer" as they have to "tweak it a little"
Will keep you up on the updates!

I just received an email from Disney. It included a forwarded email from EMMI that stated "The pacing requirements for both races is the same – 15 minute per mile pace."
So that looks to be the bad news :sosad:
This might change what race I do:headscrat

Here is great new news from Disney's site:
PACING REQUIREMENTS
All participants for the 13K and the 6.5K must be able to finish the race within two and a half hours.
I guess I'll do the 13K for sure now :D

YesDear and DS are both registered for this. I will be cheering from the sidelines. :clappingh :clappingh :clappingh
We have our room booked at OKW Thurs-Sun nights.
I tell ya, these races on the weekends are eating up the DVC points. Not complaining mind you. I am so glad that DH is doing this and I get to go to WDW with him.

FYI - Looks like this will be an annual event
From the entertainment director:
We are building this event as a new signature event in our Endurance Series. We hope it is here to stay as an annual event. Tell all your friends to come out and run this one for me.
Good, since there's no way for me to really plan to do this one this year. :(
But then, there's next year!

I'm in for the 6.5. I would love to do the 13k but since there is a party, I don't want to miss too much of it. I would surely take the full 2.5 hours for the the 13k. So looks like I will miss out on some of the surprises along the 13k route, but just the experience will be great!

We are in - I will be doing the 13K (shooting for a finish in less than 1 hour), DW, DD, and DS will be walking the 6.5 K (they are shooting for beating the old man but really don't care because they are smarter than me and will take in the whole experience more). Flights are booked, SSR is booked and we even have our MNSSHP. OH, almost forgot Mom Mom and Pop Pop are going with us to get in some of the FWF. Fun filled 4 day weekend planned.

How do we order pins if we registered before they announced the pins? I went to the site and it's asking to register in order to order them.

Just click on register. You have to put in your info(name, add, etc). Than it asks how many pins you want. You don't have to add registering for the race. I did this to order 2 pins.
I still haven't officially registered yet:)

Charlie, Richard and I are in!!! We are staying off site and just going to Disney for the race time as our passes have expired and I dont want to renew them until our week long trip in January.
I am sure we can walk a 6K in less than 2 hours.
