This dawned on me yesterday and then I forgot about it. Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary of being a DVC member!! Very exciting!
The story is-I always walked by the booths but never stopped, figured there would be too much pressure. Assumed I'd never be able to afford it. I always tried to go every year, so it piqued my curiousity. In Nov '04 I went to WDW with my cousins and we were discussing DVC. I was too chicken to go to the booth-again scare of pressure, so my cousin Melanie went up to the CM at the booth and asked a bunch of questions. She came back to me and told me what CM said. Then I remembered before the trip I had requested one of those DVC video tapes, but it hadn't come by the time I left for the trip. When I got back from the trip on a Saturday, I watched the video and thought about it for a couple of days, then I called that Tuesday, spoke to my guide for 2 hours and bought in! Bought SSR sight unseen and have been quite happy w/my decision ever since!
