I just made ressies for HHI in April. I tried to use my '05 points instead of my banked '04 b/c they "always" used banked points 1st.

We're using 200 for our summer trip in a 2BR next year, which will use up the the rest of the banked points and some of the '05's. But I can't make those ressies until December.

The reason that I wanted to use '05 points for HHI is that in case we were to cancel that trip, I could bank those points to '06.

Has anyone ever used Current years points before using the Banked points? Can they be "substituted" at a later date? :confused:

They told you that you HAD to use your banked points first and wouldn't complete the transaction as you wanted?

When I asked if I could use '05 points, she replied that they "always use the banked points first".

I would call back and ask to speak to a mgr about that.

I agree Ripley's....

They use them first for our benefit, but I have never heard that it was a hard and fast rule.

I see your reasoning of why you want to use them the way you do, so I would call back and see if you can get that changed.

When I rented points recently, the person I rented from was trying to use up "add on" extra points (those 100 "free vacation points") and he called back and got them to swap points around so that he had "clean" points to rent to me. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to swap your points to accomidate your wishes.
