First off...This is the first thread I've started on these boards! Wooo Hoo!
Now, just wondering what attractions you miss most at WDW? Here are some of mine.
1. The old Magic Of Disney Animation tour. I miss when it was an actual, funtioning animation studio. Now, it's kind a shell of its' former self.
2. Alien Encounter. Sorry, Stitch doesn't do it for me.
3. The old Imagination pavillion.
4. The name, "Countdown To Extinction". I thought that was a much better name for that attraction.

I think I miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride the most. But I also miss the Swan boats, and the Mike Fink Keelboats too. I used to really enjoy the Mickey Mouse Revue as well.

Don't remember the actual name, but the Skyride between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. I remember riding that with my children years ago when they were small. It wasn't a great ride, but I have some good memories associated with it.

1) Dreamflight (I wasn't at WDW to catch the earlier versions)
2) Horizons
3) World of Motion (is that the correct name? - it closed after my first trip to WDW)
4) Mr Toad
5) all of the things that I never got to experience at WDW or DL before they closed - like the swan boats! I do have a memory of the speed boats at DL in the 1970's though
6) perhaps one of my all time favourites - ROCKET RODS at DL!!! I was really sad to see the Peoplemover go, but Rocket Rods was a cute, fun attraction. It was the only one I would wait in line for 90 minutes (and that happened frequently as it was plagued with technical issues before finally closing down less than 2 years after it opened)
For anyone really missing anything, I was led to extinctattractions.com, which sells great DVDs about old attractions. I have several of them, and they tell the history, interview the imagineers, show promo material, and best of all, have home movies of the entire ride!

Definitely, the Imagination ride! Also, liked the Tiki birds MUCH better without Iago and Zazu.
I really miss 20,000 Leagues, but remember the boats always leaked. I do have a picture of one of the subs in the lagoon that was taken from the sky buckets before they went away.
DH fondly remembers the Swan boats, though I don't and we've both been going since '72. Can't say I miss Mr. Toad's...I was always scared of it. :beaniepro

I first went to WDW when I was about 8 years old. Members of about 3 families visited together, which meant there were about a half-dozen of us kids that were all within a few years of each other.
For the longest time, my most vivid memory was going on the same ride over and over again. The only reason we did that was because it didn't require a ticket. Years later, through the magic of the Internet, I put all the pieces together and discovered that ride was If You Had Wings. :)
To this day I get kinda freaked-out every time I think about the fact that Buzz still runs on the same track as that ride.
Alien Encounter is probably my favorite of the recently-retired attractions. I also miss the Tapestry of Nations / Tapestry of Dreams parade at Epcot. :(

Mr Toads is worth the trip to DL just to ride! And I love the fact that WDW still has the Peoplemover - which I really missed at DL when they closed it!
I'll always miss the Sky bucket ride..... oh what is the name of that ride!!!! I'm terrified of heights - but still loved that ride as a kid!

oops, I am so brain dead this afternoon, your right, If You HAD wings. I found that internet site a while back where they played the song, and I just got chills. Very weird emotional response, I guess I have so many memories of that ride with family that is either not here anymore, or choose not to be. Sorry for the psychobabble ;)
oh, man you are right. It is the same track. For some reason that has never dawned on me!
Mr. Toad's, what memories! I think we might have to burn some points to see Mr. Toad. Oh, and another. The Main Street Electrical Parade. I love spectro, but MSEP, well everytime I am on hold and they play it, I get choked up! Yes, I am a freak!

Yes, I would have loved to have ridden the Swan Boats, but, alas, they were long gone by my first trip to WDW in '93. I didn't ride 20,000 Leagues that trip, and it closed the next year! DOH!

I saw MSEP when I was 9 at DL for their 25th anniv. (The only disappointment for that was the ticket system.) Never got a chance to do 20K. Dh and I really miss Tapestry of Nations.

My DH would vote for the sky buckets too!
I put MSEP as a dial tone on my phone and whenever my Mom (dizhoni) calls me, it plays one of our favorite tunes:goodvibes

I've never been on the Swan boats, but I'd love to see them return. Something about cruising along the canals thru Adventureland brings back childhood fantasies. I think every young boy would love to live in Swiss Fam Treehouse and be able to paddle around the MK canals.
After that, bring back AE ( sorry, but Stitch is just pathetic ) and 20K sub ride.
Oh yeah..... Bring back River Country and the nature trail.NOW !!!

Me too. I really really liked that parade. I still find myself humming the tune from time to time.

I wasn't to crazy about the parade itself. But I LOVED the music from it.

My MOST missed is probably Magic Journeys in MK, although I never saw it. I was really looking forward to seeing it many years ago (I think it was 10 or 12 years ago). Back then, I didn't know anything about its closing. Well, sure enough, I got to MK, only to discover it had closed just days before I'd gotten there. What a disappointment! I've never forgotten that, so I always make it a point to see any ride that I hear, even rumored, that's going to close soon.

For me it is the entire Wonders of Life Pavillon that is not open anymore when we are in Epcot - I was planning to experience all the attractions when I found out it went seasonal

Sky buckets, 20,000 League/Sub. & AE - I luv Stitch but the Alien ride was a better bang-for-the buck & the pre-show robot bit has got to go! Surely, they could have put Stitch & Co. in some sort of "dark-ride" instead.

I got to go during Christmas and I asked the CM at Cranium Command about it. She said that until they get a sponsor, it will only be open a week during Easter and two weeks during Christmas.:( Anyone know of a sponsor?

There are a lot of rides you all mentioned that I don't really remember.
I went numerous times as a child but they stopped when I was around 11 or 12. Long time off and then I went again at 21 and started again yearly in 2000 when I was 23.
I do remember Horizons. I remember World of Motion but I don't really remember what the ride was about.
I remember Mr Toad but not about what the ride was about.
Bummer.

I went on the boats that went through the canal in MK in 78 I had forgotten all about them till the other night when my DW and I were talking about things I saw at MK on my very first trip way back then LOL. I want them to re open the boardwalk swamp/nature trail at FW we walked it in 98 on our honeymoon and it was beautiful back there it even had little benches to sit on and watch the fish in the water or whatever was going on in the area. We watched a small alligator swim around in there for about an hour trying to catch fish it was hilarious.

I miss Horizons. I know it was past becoming retro - almost everything it predicted had already come true, but I still miss it.

Yeah, Horizons! I loved what I always called "The Neon Room." I felt it captured the spirit and hope people felt about the future, which we don't always have when looking forward now.

Yes! That's EXACTLY how I felt, too. We're so ho-hum about all that stuff now.

My family always loved "The Diamond Horseshoe Review." It was cool and comfy in there and the show was silly and fun. I always loved "If You had Wings," as well as the "Circlevision" show in Tomorrowland. It had these cool scenes from all over America as a kid it always made me feel quite patriotic.
We also loved the train in the campground. I really miss the original Electrical Water Pageant with the great music. Today's is shorter and the songs aren't as cool.

For me, it's just not the same without the veggie-veggie-fruit-fruit of the Kitchen Cabaret... :tearsaref
(I do NOT, however, miss Food Rocks - too loud - and CERTAINLY not Captain E-O! :yuck: )
I find it ironic that The Wonders of Life is... well, dead. Ironic... and sad. I also miss the original Figment show (with NO SKUNK SMELL, THANK YOU!)
