I have a new nephew!

Yesterday at 5:30 pm, baby Ty (yes, after Extreme Home Makeover guy) was born to my dh's oldest sister. Parents and baby are doing well. This will make 1 niece and five nephews! (btwn my family and his) And we try very hard to spoil them all!

Quote of the day was from my 6YO nephew. "Ty made me a cousin!"

Congratulations, Carrie on your new little nephew :) There is just nothing like being an aunt. I really love it and all of mine are just about twenty-somethings now. They are great young people :cool:

My oldest is 8. They are so fun and cute. I dream of still being cool when they are in their 20s. My niece had to have overalls just like me. I'm still dreading the day she finds out that I am not a fashion diva. :( They are wquite fun, though.

Now I just need to finish Ty's blanket by the weeked visit. Ahhh!

I hope both mommy and Ty (hehehe - I am with you on that one Laura ;) ) are doing well!

lol I try to be the cool aunt, but my sister has that role down pat. My niece thinks she is da bomb, and its because I make her behave when she is with me and my sister lets my boys and my niece act like monkeys. :rolleyes: But hey - as long as she wants to do things with us still I am happy!

Believe it or not, but I am quite strict with the kids. More so with the one's on dh's side as I am the only one who believes in discipline. Funny, 6YO still think's I'm "fun", even if the ILs call me "the aunt with an attitude."

They have to follow the rules, I don't let them open teh next snack before they finish the first one, but I spend time with them and play with them too. I try to have fun crafts when they visit and that type of thing.

My one SIL is determined to be the extra special aunt for Ty, though. This is her first nephew, as she's the one with her own kids. I'm sure we'll all be special in our own way.

Oops, I forgot that I also have an adorable almost 3 yr old nephew that is so fun. He is on my DH's side and is the only grandchild too, next to my kids, they married into the family :) We all lavish love on him :p

My others range from 29 down to 19. I am helping my DNiece26 with a loan for a home, she's so grown up!
