Well, we just had an exchange come through. I know you guys aren't typically big on exchanges, but be excited for me. :)
We wanted something different from WDW to use up the remainder of the 2005 "bonus" points we got (plus some of 2006), since we can't bank them through to 2007. We've just had sooooo many Disney trips in the past couple years, especially because of planning the wedding. But we didn't want anything too expensive (like Europe... with air and lots of train, entrance fees, etc.), so we put in for Avaria north of San Diego or any of the Royal resorts in Cancun. They all get really good reviews on TUG and Trip Advisor.
I asked for any time in October, November, or December, and what we got was Nov 4-11 (and our first anniversary is Nov 5!) at the Royal Caribbean in Cancun! And they're giving us a two bedroom for the points (144... mid season) of a one bedroom! So we're going to invite friends to come along with us. It looks like the rooms are set up very similarly to the two bedroom lockoffs at DVC resorts... so they'll essentially get an adjoining studio to our one bedroom.
I know November is the tail end of hurricane season, but what can you do? We'll get trip insurance! It is actually one of the least rainy months typically, with an average high of 84.
