Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will offer horse-drawn carriage rides through the resort for $35 beginning on January 2, 2006. Each 25-minute ride can accommodate as many as four adults (or two adults and three children.) For details or reservations call 407-WDW-PLAY.

Woo hoo! Sign me up! When I made ADRs, carriage rides were mentioned, but they were not at SSR. DIdn't want to travel far for one, but might re-think that now.

Cam I assume the $35.00 is for the carriage and not per-person ?

I'm sure it is. We paid $30 or 35 for a "Sleigh Ride" at the WL last year (which is basically a horse-drawn carriage outfitted to look like a sleigh), and the charge covered the entire group.

I think that it's great to see SSR starting to carry the horse theme through a little more....

I could understand the carriage rides at WL/VWL, but what is there as far as scenery besides buildings and a golf course at SSR? What would draw people to this?

I am wondering the same thing myself.

After giving it some thought, I'm guessing that the ride will probably go through some of the wooded areas away from the resort itself. I'm not an expert on that part of the world, but I'm guessing there are some fairly secluded paths leading back toward the Treehouse Villas and across the road near POFQ.

Between the busses and cars regularly traveling the roads throughout the resort, and the reality of the...mess...horses will leave behind, I can't see this being a tour of the resort. With the ride being 45 minutes long, they'll have time to go well beyond the borders of SSR.

I can't wait to hear a review when someone gives it a try. :bluebloun

I think that you have it right. I noticed several little trails while walking from SSR to DTD a few weeks ago, and thought that they would be interesting to explore. I would love to see something encorporating the Treehouse area and over to POFQ/POR but I expect that would be over 30 minutes?

I think over to POR/POFQ would take the tour well over 30 minutes especially return

Are there still carriage tours at POR/POFQ?

thanks

I was so excited to read about the Carriages rides at SSR! I was reading these boards right after returning from my trip! And I told Scott about and I can't wait to book this for us when the time comes. How romantic!!!

Oh, you're right. THough this still doesn't appeal to me. The ride at the WL/VWL sounds more interesting.
