Ok, so who's up for a little Pool get together? :kickingco
Since this didn't need to be organized around a specific time & date, like a tour or MVMCP, I was going to wait but since everyone else is moving right along, I figured I better start atleast getting some ideas here. :jumpingbe
So who's interested and where are you staying? Children of course are welcome!
Attending
Stimpy & Mr Stimpy
Viking if there is a "view"
Rozzie & Mr Rozzie
Mar
ColoradoBelle
Mickeyndvcfan
athena
Mr and Mrs DSNY FN
Skelsters Family
Jiggerj's
Looks like the best start time would be around 2:30 or 3:00. Our flight doesn't get into MCO until almost 1PM. (Dern parents wouldn't come over at 4:30 AM to babysit so we could get an earlier flight  )

Well if the weather is delightfully warm, I'd love to do this in the day.
Otherwise, I'm thinking we turn it into a jacuzzi party some night in which case there had better be both booze and blankets! (and we'd best hold it at a pool that has a warm changing area nearby)

Ok, so it seems dates & times for events are filling up! Any ideas for when the best time would be for this?
I was thinking of doing it the afternoon of arrival day 12/2 since it will be a really laid-back, informal get together and maybe it will give us a chance to relax before really getting into all the great events planned. But it looks like CB & jiggerj are planning a Welcome meet that night, which I know I would love to attend that too.
Or we could plan it mid afternoon another day to give us a break from the parks? Although looking at the temporary calendar, it seems like no one will have any breaks that week! :woohoodan
And to think I talked DH into this trip by telling him it would be a good chance for the just the two of us to get away for some peace & quiet :lmbo:
Colorado Belle
03-02-2007, 10:17 PM
Well...I'm still not sure if this is a POOL meet or a POOLBAR meet.:cheers2:
If it's a POOL meet, then I'm thinking afternoon ??????? So I think it would be a great option on Sunday afternoon for those of us who always seem to have to wait to get INTO our room until 5. As I recall, my plane gets in @ 2:30...so I'm thinking I won't be at the World til @ 3:30 but that's coming in from the WEst, so I think you eastcoasters will probalby be in before noon!
I think an afternoon meet on Sunday would be a great option! Since it's December, we always have to worry about the dang weather for actual pooldipping tho. where were you thinking of holding it?
Stimpy
03-03-2007, 01:29 AM
Well, we know SAB is out LOL. I was trying to get an idea of who was interested in going and where they are staying so we can try to pick a pool that all, or atleast most, can get to easily.
We usually take a pretty early flight and get in around 11am. I'm not sure when everyone else is arriving? Afternoon, probably about 2-3 pm-ish would be a good time I think. Like CB suggests, this way those lucky enough to get a room assigned early can unwind a bit before going & those not so lucky have a place to hang out while they wait. :margarita
So is it ok to put the Pool "party" on the calendar for Sunday afternoon for now with location TBD? Of course, it's a long way to December so plans can change before then.

We would like to attend but are not sure if we can make it. The only way I see us getting there before 5pm is coming a day earlier than planned or catching a red eye with 2 kids.

Aw, Stimparoo, I'd always be willing to pick up your drunk body!
And I might not be as 'late' getting there as I thought. SWA has an early morning flight that gets in at 12:45...Hours earlier than any other airline. I haven't booked it yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do it. (Requires leaving home at 3AM, but who sleeps the night before Disney anyway?...of course, it might be you picking me up off the jacuzzi bottom!)

We'll have to come to an "accord"! Who ever sees the other passed out in the jacuzzi first has to throw in the life preserver. :hahahaha:
Did I mention I have 2 free drink coupon books, each with enough coupons for about 4 beers, for SW that need to be used by 12/31/07??? :lmbo:

Well, let's see.....if we keep charging everything on our SW Visa, we should be due for another free R/T next month! So I see another free drink booklet coming in our future soon! :cheers2:
Hmmm.....then there's quite a few months left between now & then, with Birthdays, summer vacations, Christmas shopping all coming up, so there is always the possiblility of ANOTHER one......:ROTFL:

Well since alot of other events are moving right along, I thought I'd bump this up!
Did anyone get flight times yet? We're still waiting on SWA, which I hear should be coming at the end of this month  Usually we get a pretty early flight.

I have not quite given up on trying to convince DD to take the 6AM flight, but it looks like I'll relent and take the next flight out. No sense starting off the trip with a grumpy teenager. Looks like we'll be flying Jet blue, leaving JFK 8AM, arriving around 11AM to MCO. Hoping to be at BWV within an hour or so of landing (using DME). :fingerscr :fingerscr

So it sounds like so far that 2PM is a good time?
Also, CB made a good point that we should have a back -up plan incase of bad weather! Something I didn't even think about but we know how unpredictable that FL weather can be. Any suggestions for back-ups?
ESPN would be a good choice, but may be tough since it's a Sunday during football season :blech: (Although I know my DH wouldn't mind one bit and he could just camp out there for the whole day :lmbo: )

It will not rain, I forbid it!! :goodvibes
But just in case.....How about community hall as a back up? It's not huge, but I think it's do-able. Adults can talk, kids have some stuff keep them amused.
And it's just a short walk to the pool bar if anyone is so inclined. ;)

GREAT idea with the Community Hall! Pefect to keep the kiddies busy- maybe they will have an activity going at the same time. I volunteer to make the Leaping Horse Libation runs! :margarita:

ESPN and community hall both work!
I only have a studio room, and who knows when they will let me check in, but of course that's also available if it's raining....and I always seem to find ingredients for margarita (something about that owner's locker).
Since I believe in the law of attraction, having a backup plan usually serves to appease the gods....so I'm thinking we'll be ok!
I'd imagine the pool bar closes if the weather is really bad. So it probably wouldn't hurt to have a phone call list, just in case, so that any change in plans can be broadcast.

Not sure if this is the case everywhere, but we've been at the pool bars in AKL and BCV during rain and they are still open! Best part is...no crowds :kickingco
But you are right, a back up plan would be a great idea.

Ok, I'm going to set a tentative time for this of 2:30. Is that ok with everyone? I really can't do it myself any earlier since we aren't getting into MCO until nealy 1PM. We can move it to 3, but I don't think much later since it would probably run into the Beaches & Cream party.
Any input? Thanks!

I think we're going to end up passing on this event. I think we're going to AK for the day, and will want to stay for the Jingle Jungle parade. HOWEVER, we do plan to make it to the BelleVue Room, so we hope to see you guys there!
