What have you heard in the past and though "this is a sure fire done deal" and yet it never happens?

One that came to mind recently for me was that during the rehab of IASW, they were moving the entrance area into the old skylift building. Rehab is done and that ISN'T one of the changes made.

Do you know any "done deals" that didn't happen?

Wasn't Eagle Pines a done deal that isn't done anymore? I think that it's still on allears, and I think that I saw it on my CaskBill vacation planner tool today.

Spain was going to build a pavillion in EPCOT. Was going to be announced just as soon as the ink dried on the papers. Must be some pretty goo-ey ink.

Westcot was the name they were using for the second park in California, even during the initial construction phase.

Personally, I would have preferred another Epcot style park over the current DCA that resulted....

Eagle Pines is a good one. They actually started clearing ground for the resort, and then switched-gears to SSR. One of these days I'll write something for the website about all of the DVC resorts that might have been.

As far as attractions go, one of my personal faves is Star Tours v2. I'm sure that has been considered "a done deal" many times, even though it's never been very close to happening. George Lucas would be heavily involved in such a project before it would ever be announced, and that's just not happened.

The good news is that Lucas himself was quoted earlier this year stating that he does want to see Star Tours upgraded. I read a report somewhere recently that the Imagineers were examing the Body Wars hardware to determine whether it could be incorporated into a Star Tours ride for Hong Kong Disneyland. If so, hopefully they will use that as an excuse to spend some development dollars to "plus" all of the ST variants.

Oh, if any ride needs to upgraded, it is Star Tours! LOL, DH and I always skip it and go directly into Traders. I so wish this rumor would come true!!
