Anyone else heading to WDW for the Holidays? We are staying at BWV's with friends. We are doing the Christmas tree exchange organized on some other board. I thought about dropping out, but since I am providing the tree, I didnt want to let all the others on the list down... plus my friends are looking forward to having a tree too...

The BWV's is my favorite resort for the holidays... I had taken a trip in Early November 2004 and much to my surprise I woke up to BWV in full Christmas decor! I was tickled!

I posted a similar question in planning, called Hot Chocolate meet, Laura. Yes, we are going in December, the 16-23, staying at OKW. I have only been at Christmas one other time. It was in 1998 in FW cabins; we loved it and are looking forward to this trip :D

Hope your cruise was great!

We are going Dec 4 - 9th to stay at SSR for the first time! We did the weekend after Thanksgiving last year and it was fun, but still pretty busy.

It is going to be a low key trip for us this time. We haven't even bought tickets to a Christmas party in case the weather is bad or our little one doesn't like being out so much (which I don't think will be a problem), but letting the Christmas season go without a trip down really would have made me sad.

I didn't participate in the Christmas tree exchange, but I think its a fantastic idea and I am glad you didn't drop out Laura. We probably will take some lights for our balcony and maybe a wreath for the door (gotta love those suction cup light holders and door wreath holders :) you can decorate anything!)

We'll be there at Christmastime!

MrsT and I will be at OKW for two nights, Dec 15,16 (Th/Fr) in a Studio. Then we move to a 2BR at SSR for four nights 17-20 (Sat-Tues) when our DS joins us. This is going to be our family Christmas celebration.

We will be there Nov 30th to Dec 5th. I just changed our resort as the OKW day-by-day waitlist came in. So now we arrive at OKW 11/30 and have to check out 12/4 and move to POP or PO-R - unless the last waitlist night comes thru. Was looking forward to SSR, but the points were a tad lower at OKW!

I love BWV at Christmas - the old world christmas ornaments are lovely and the chocolate village is wonderful!

BCV has the wonderful chocolate carousel.

Oh, I had a Christmas trip in 98 and holy cow :faint: that was rough. I told myself not again, it was a madhouse. Of course this was before fast pass and AK was still new.

But I will be down for the "holiday" season, the week after Thanksgiving.

How do you all do it at Christmas time? Isn't it wall to wall people?

Actually its not wall to wall people unless you go Thanksgiving weekend or really at Christmas (thru New Years). The weeks leading up to the holidays are actually pretty laid back and low attendance as people are rushing around doing a million other things, most children are still in school and the weather that time of year is iffy.

The weeks up til Christmas week are a peak time for DVCers, but not for Disney guests in general. This is one of those times when the DVC peak and the regular WDW peaks don't match and it works out fantastically to our benefit. Low points make it prime time, the decorations are up and attendance is low.

I can't wait to go this year!

Ok, when we went in 98 we checked in on Xmas day and checked out New Years Eve and it was horrible. We honestly waited 2 hours - yes 2 - to go on the safari at AK. Before fast pass and it was still new.

I know that right after Thanksgiving is very popular for DVC'ers and I see why. We started going annually the week after Thanksgiving since 2001.

Missed going to the World in 02, its been termed "the dark year" in our home. haha

We will be at OKW Dec. 31-Jan. 10, and that will be our family Christmas celebration, since DS and his SO are now living in Houston, and wont be coming home for the holidays.
