Hay all. I went to the meeting in Chicago yesterday. The 2pm meeting.

Spoilers are ahead so if you don't want to know, don't read yet.

I went to the afternoon session. They also mentioned starting in Dec or next year that they we now would be able to pay our annual dues online too!

I read that someone who went to the morning session said that we could start banking our points online.
I didn't hear about the banking of points. They said we would be able to view them online and the 2 year history but said nothing on the banking. Hopefully they just forgot to mention that in the afternoon sesson.

I didn't win anything but they gave out a great prize. One grand prize winner got a free trip from II to be used anywhere around the world. They gave away 10 Mickey wreaths and other prizes in bags that we couldn't see but I had heard one was a pair of slippers from SSR so I assume more things like that.

We also got cute flashy buttons with the DVC logo on it.

The food was very good and my session wasn't crowded at all. Talked to a wonderful lady while waiting and they are good friends with Don Williams who had signed and numbered the special litho they were giving out if you added on points.

Other info they gave were things we already knew about like the portable perks, being able to stay concierge at the Cont, Terf Club full service restaurant and things of that nature.

They also mentioned that the member cruise sold out in 5 hours last year.

Also talked about the AP perk and it doesn't sound like it is going anywhere. Said they are 95,000 family member strong and with more members comes more power and that they had been working 14 years on this deal. So by the sounds of it, the AP discount doesn't look like it is going anywhere.

Now I could be wrong but they did quite a plug for it and it would seem odd to plug something they are getting rid of. They asked how many were AP holders, if we liked the perk. How we should buy one, stay one week then come back the next year the week before it expires to take advantage. How it was the same price as a 7 day pass etc. So from the sounds of it I would guess its here to stay :)

Great report.

Did theevent cost you anything ?

Any idea how many attended it ?

Any mention of them doing this again in another city...... say in New Jersey ?

The event was free.

I would guess around 100 people there. Its was in a smaller conference room and it wasn't full. Of course they had 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.

They just mentioned they hope to do more of these and they picked Chicago for the first one. I think it was easier for them since Disney does the Mag Mile festival of lights stuff.

Portable Perks... meaning they have shrunken the perks pages so it will be easy to carry with you.

Concierge at the Contemporay is now availible on points

Turf Cluf at SSR to be full service dining.
