I just found this site and am thrilled to talk to others with the same interest in DVC properties as I have. I used to be a member, OKW and BWV, but sold my points because I was working as a travel agent and could get rooms at half off. I was only part-time outside sales and now that perk is only available to full-time sellers. Bummer! I now wish I never would have sold! For the time being I am going to rent from other owners because I have two children in college, but you can bet when I can I will be buying again. Once you have stayed at a DVC condo there is no way you want to stay anywhere else.

I am looking forward to getting to know what everyone else likes best. I love OKW, but the location of BW is great. I haven't stayed at BCV yet, but would like to. I have three kids, two in college, one in middle school. We live in PA so we love to go in Feb. or March. My husband loves the roominess and the golf courses.

Talk to you all soon!

Where in Pennsylvania are you? I'm in a little town called Trappe, outside of Philadelphia. We're so small that we have to use the ZIP Code of the town next door, because we don't have our own Post Office.

Hi Rita,

I am in a little town outside of Erie. The town is called North East, even though we are about as north west as you can get in PA, up in the "chimney".

oh great - alphabetically means I am behind Knwviking. :coffee1:

Welcome Tink! Sorry to hear that you lost such a great perk, but glad you found us! You seem like the "jump right in" type, so be sure to visit the community hall area where we talk about everything and nothing as well as the DVC areas.

So far, my family has only stayed at SSR and OKW and love them both. I have small children and the condo style makes me feel like we will be less bothersome to others (noise in the halls, etc) and for me, that means a more relaxing vacation. As they get older, we will certainly be trying all the resorts! I love this program because it adapts so easily as your needs change! :cheerlead

Welcome!

Laura

Taking trips in March and you love golf...then go to HHI!

You can even join us for the drive down I-95.

But remember, what happens at South of the Border, stays at South of the Border (right, Tony?)

Oh, sorry for going out of order, I guess I'm after lllllovelll.

So glad to hear from people so soon! This site is great, and thanks for the tips about where else to look.

OKW is great for getting away from it all but still being in the middle of the "Magic". We stayed at SSR for four days 2 years ago, but had to cut the trip short due to a family emergency. Long drive from PA for 4 days. Phase One was just open so I think I really need to stay again to judge how well we liked it. There was still alot of construction going on.

We were at HHI in 1999, but we went in February. We stayed for a couple days on our way to OKW. It was still a bit too cold for my liking, but would love to go back later. Our one daughter left at home is 13 and doesn't think a trip alone with mom and dad is real exciting. She wants to bring a friend along now. I guess the HHI trip will just be the two of us some day.

Our last trip we decided to save money and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, which is very, very nice. However, for our last two nights we just couldn't take the being confined to a hotel and room and ended up going into a 1BR at OKW. We had to pay alot, but we were so much more relaxed and happy it was worth it.

Which part of POR did you stay in - I am taking the 2 DS' there for 2 nights of our March trip - I like the grounds a lot and I thought it would be a pleasant change to stay there

We stayed in the Magnolia Bend Mansions. We've stayed there twice and it is very pretty and not quite as rustic as the Alligator Bayou rooms. There are nice courtyards with fountains and lots of flowers. The rooms only sleep four. In the Alligator Bayou rooms you can get a trundle bed for a small child. Enjoy your trip!

Great to see another golfer on the boards. I'm sure you must miss the DVC golf membership. We are going in June and October, so if you are there and DH needs a golf fix, we are always glad to share our discount and add a fourth.

Thanks Tink22, DS#1 wants to stay in the AB section - he likes the way the paths wind and turn along with the look of the quiet pools

Welcome to Mouseowners!

I'm so excited! I just booked a 1BR for OKW. We leave in 22 days. Used my annual pass discount - good savings and still value season. Can't wait to go!

Woohoo congratulations!
Hmmm, why do I get the distinct feeling that someone is going to rejoin DVC really soon.......? :scratchch :goodvibes
