I just about jumped out of my skin when the caller ID read "Disney Travel" Thought it just "might" be the waitlist coming thru. The agent asked me to confirm our Poly portion of the trip and to get our requests in. She said they were working on filling the room requests now. We dont even arrive till the 29th! I have never had an agent call to do that before! :)

That's interesting JiggerJ. I wonder why they would call? My impression has always been that they don't do anything as far as room assignments and stuff until a few days out, and that they don't care a whole lot about requests in the scheme of things.

We have a grand gathering number as our party is of 9. Maybe this is a"perk" of the grand gathering?

Oh, that could be! What a nice perk, if that's the case.

Hmm I wonder if we should add this to our Dec trip for next year as tehre will be 21 of us going. Do you know if they do the magical/grand gatherings for the cruise also?

You might want to look into it. There is more info on the Disney website. I do know that they give you a special phone number to call when making any arraingmnets for your trip. They do have some really cool tours, cruises and I believe a safari that you can sign up for that is strictly for Grand Gathering groups. We will be going to Tonys for a Grand Gathering breakfast and you have to have a Grand Gathering number to be able to do so. Its by no means free, not sure of the price...maybe it was $25 approx. per person paid for in full at the time of booking. There is a really cool pirate cruise that I wanted to do that involves Peter Pan and wishes. Sorry I don't have more info but I think it is a definate you should check it out especially with your party size. :)

We were looking into it and it looks like we are going to do the wishes cruise with the electric water pagent not bad either 26 bucs a person or something like that. Apparently they have teh wishes music piped into the boat for you so as to not lose the atmosphere of the display.

We looked into this last year - I thought that it was really good value. But since we had several small children with us, we didn't want to commit to much (we stayed very flexible during the week!)
I would definitely consider it with slightly older kids or any other large group, though!
