One of my errands today is to go by Harry Potter tickets to take DD12 tonight. Anyone seen it yet?

Have you read the books, Carrie? The series got me through those early treadmill days last winter :)

DH has them all. I just haven't gotten into them. I love the movies, but it's hard for me to read a book after I've seen the movie. :idontgeti:

Can't wait.

DD (11), and I have read them all and we are hooked big time. She shares HP's birthday which she finds really cool. For the book release this summer we were there at midnight, she wore her wizard halloween cosutme DW made for her. Very cute.

I've started re-reading them with DS (8).

Talked about going to the movie tomorrow or Sunday.

The movies are fun, always a bit of a let down from the books, but we do enjoy them.

No Spoilers Please!

No one in our house likes the books or the movies. We were at my sister in laws place for T Giving dinner in Oct and they were talking about the new book. I walked into the room and blurted out the ending as I heard about it at work my SIL was a little PO'd at me as she was only half way through the book LOL. I saw a video online of a couple people driving up and down teh road in front of the Barnes and Noble book store late the night it was opening at midnight to sell teh book. They must have had a good source as they were driving up and down the street yelling out what happes at the end of the book and people were swearing at them it was kinda funny actually.

Saw it yesterday..... Loved it!
Kids and I have read all of the books - so we are always pretty excited when the movies come out. They obviously have to leave a lot out to fit it in 2.5 hours - but the did an excellent job of it. I thought it was better than the 3rd movie - and although it had it's dark moments - got a PG13 rating, and had a sad ending - it had more light and funny moments in it than they had in the 3rd movie.
Can't wait for it to come out on video - see allthe little things you miss in the theater!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I was trying to figure out which box it was still packed in so that I could re-read it again! I'm pretty sure I rmember how they changed it - but now it's bugging me!

Hopefully, I'll get there first week of December, unless dh and I can sneak away from his parents this weekend. He likes to have the book fresh in his mind and has read it fairly recently for the upcoming movie. He's having a very hard time figuring out how this one was made into a movie, but says that darn near everytime.

Hi,

Just came from seeing it. The visuals were great!!! All & all they did a fair job condensing the story. However I was disapointed in the fact that it wasn't very happy. There were some happy points in the book, it wasn't all bad. If you've read the book go see it, if not you'll be lost.

Went to see it on T-day. DD and I have read them all but DW has not, only saw the movies.

From her perspective it was just so-so. Not having read the books she was of the "what's the big deal" mentality.

DD and I enjoyed it though she had lots of questions about people or sub plots she remembered from the book that did not appear.

If you have not read the books, my wife's recommendation would be to save your money and rent it next summer. I tend to agree.
