Can members book the cruise and pay cash, i.e. if they either don't have any points left or just don't want to use them? If so, where can I find the cash prices?

Unless you are using points for at least one member of your party, such as an 18 pt infant, I believe you would just book through the cruiseline's website or phone operators. The Member Services rep I spoke to about the members-only cruise led me to believe that one cruise was the only time they booked cash only. Of course there are good and not so good reps at MS.

If member services can help you with a cash booking I don't think you will get any discount off the DCL prices - at least I have not heard of any being advertised by DVC. If you decide to try MS anyways, I would check DCL online first as prices vary from cruise to cruise and this way you would know the going rate. One advantage of going through DCL is that they seem to have a larger phone staff than DVC member services, at least I've never waited more than a minute to talk to them on the phone.

:reporter:Oh, and one last thought...If you do get a discount on a cash only booking, be sure to post it here! :jumpingbe

If you decide to book DCL as a cash cruise you're better off doing that directly. Just an FYI, if you are a Costco member book through them. My understanding is that they have the best pricing for a DCL cruise.

You could check web-sites for what they give you for booking with them.My last cruise in Nov 06 I had a onboard credit of 200 dollars.I had two rooms so it was 100 dollars each room.I booked with my Disney card on the DCL web page. The onboard credit is the only thing you will get ubless they are running a special on a small amount of dates. You get the best rates in January and September.I was on the 4night cruise and most give 50.00 credit on a 4 night and 100.00 on the 7 night.I got lucky with a promo that they doubled the money for booking with the Disney card.
