Arghhh....this latest development with Delta...potential pilots' strike...is driving me crazy. We have R/T Delta flights on 12/9 & 12/13.

Does it make any difference that these are with a "codeshare partner", ie Chataqua or ComAir? Are those pilots under the Delta contract?

What should I do? Sit tight and maybe try to snag tix from Orbitz, Expedia, etc at the last minute? Go ahead and get SW tix out of RDU...if so, can I cancel for a credit?

I thought other airlines usually tried ot accomodate the passengers of teh striking airlines. It woudl not make for easy travel but you should be taken care of.

I can't really offer advice on the strike per se, but regional carriers are sometimes under a different union.

On a brighter note, I was on a United flight just a few minutes after they filed for bankruptcy protection a few years ago. The pilot made a very eloquent speech.

Since that time, I have not had any issues - service remains excellent (heck, I never ate those airline meals anyways, and if I need to, I can always pick a snack box); schedules were 'tweaked' but are being enhanced again, etc.

United is making it back into the black, and adding flights back to their schedule, and the last few years were really rather painless for this very frequent flier (but sadly more painful for the staff who experienced so many cuts)

Re the strike issue: I have a coworker who flies NW every week, and he was delayed the first week by several hours, but since then things have settled down, and he has not had any further issues.

Wishing you the best of luck!!
