According to Deb Wills' newsletter (from 12/12):
Disney Vacation Club Members and their guests will be among the first to power Monstropolis with their laughter during sneak previews of the new Laugh Floor Comedy Club coming to the Magic Kingdom. The previews will take place during regular park hours January 19-21. On these days, present your Disney Vacation Club Member ID at the entrance to the new Tomorrowland attraction (located directly across from the Stitch's Great Escape!). The one-eyed Mike Wazowski, featured in Disney/Pixar's 2001 film Monsters, Inc., will serve as the new comedy club's "monster of ceremonies," introducing monster comedians trained to interact with guests and perform improvised comedy live from their futuristic "digital stage." (Think Turtle Talk with Crush on a larger scale.) Please note that paid theme park admission is required. The attraction may experience some downtime during the preview period, and it is subject to close without notice.
I know a lot of us will be there during that timeframe, so be sure to check it out.

we saw it last week! cm's were asking people walking by to preview. there were 'suits' in the back. they said we were the first audience.
it was cute. animated monsters (ala Crush) telling jokes, with some audience interaction.

Wow crazywig, that's really cool, the first audience!! :worship:
I liked Crush, but I think it's geared more towards the toddler set. Does that hold true for Laugh Floor Comedy Club as well?

Just stumbled across a report claiming that the "Laugh Floor" opening has been pushed back several months. Here's a link:

We'll have to see if this plays-out as WDWMagic is reporting.
If this is true, I'll give them credit for making what I'm certain was a tough (and costly) decision. Most, if not all, of the reports I've read about the attraction previews have been pretty lukewarm. These days it's nothing short of miraculous that they would go back to the drawing board to fix story issues in a theme park attraction.

I would hate to miss the DVC preview, but I am glad that they may actually be taking the time to go back and fix whatever is wrong.
To bad they didn't try that with Stitch.

Maybe that's exactly why they are doing that this time around.
Crazywig, did they still have the surround screen in there?

Since the changes and later opening date involve rewrites, I would think the Imagineers would constantly be evaluating feedback from the guests.
In other words, I'm hoping the DVC preview is still going to happen.

no, not geared totally towards kids...they had some jokes that went right over kid's heads. not that i can remember any but it was really an all ages type thing. there was one monster i didn't think funny at all. i'm guessing it's the material they're rewriting, since i didn't really notice any major technical issues during the show.

it's not going all the way back to story-boarding -- but there are at least 2 teams working on re-writes based on feedback/research results. I'd say you can lump this is the camp of the changes occurring as a result of the new management philosophies in effect :)

So, they're not really changing the storyline, per-se, just trying to come up with some funnier material to fill the meat of the presentation. Is that a pretty fair assessment?
As to the viability of the announced preview, it's worth nothing that ALL mention of the previews have been removed from both the Passholder and DVC websites. The passholder site has a calendar that shows special AP events, and there is nothing listed for January.
Good to hear Disney (WDI or whatever) is willing to make this decision. I'm sure it's going to be questioned at the press events in January and I think it's something of a black eye, but they are right to wait until the have an attraction worthy of the "Disney" name.

sorry i missed this question before!
they had 3 seperate screens. one on the left was for Roz, the big middle screen for the monster performers and one on the right that was like a door from the movie, and Mike came in and out that one.
btw, i love Roz in general so it warmed my heart to see her in there :)

Just got an e-mail yesterday that the Member preview is being pushed back, with no replacement date at this time. Spring 2007 is all it said for the official opening date.
We were in MK twice over Christmas break and asked CMs in the area if there were any previews slated. It sounded like there were no soft openings at all during Christmas -- unless we were just majorly unlucky.
