When to the Christmas Decorations Come Down?

I don't see dh and I ever making a holiday trip. Life is too chaotic. I'm really hoping to see the decorations for our January trip, but that may be pushing it (6 to 13). When do they usually start the dsismantling process?

Pretty sure they come down January 2.
But they go up on Thanksgiving...so maybe one year you could plan a Thanksgiving celebration at WDW...sure, THursday or Friday or Sat wouldn't be the best time to go into the parks and do rides BUT it's fine really for looking at Xmas decs and events, cause you can basically book everything 180 days out.
This year my area gave the kids off Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving...finally someone realized that those traveling need to GET THERE by turkey day...I don't have kids in school, but I was able to get el cheapo air on Saturday (the 26th).

This year the parks have all already been decorated ( 90% + ). Resorts will begin to be decorated, as I understand it, late in the night of Tday.
This is an experiment with putting up the decorations so early. In fact, AK was decorated on the nights of 11/3 & 11/4.

Also, as far as taking them down, it's been annouced that the Osborn display won't go dark untill 01/08/06 -- it remains to be seen, but I won't be shocked if the park decorations aren't taken down until then as well.

Thanks! I was actually told last night that they put many of teh MK decorations at the backdoor to the park so that marathoners can see them. I may luck out after all!

I think its later then jan. 2nd. Last year we were snowed in wdw, daern i hate when that happens and we finally got to go home around jan.7 and the deco were still up.
