View Full Version : Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Anyone else have a child that becomes absolutely entranced while watching this show? I just started letting my D watch broadcast television (instead of DVDs). She ADORES this show -- and now asks to play the game on playhousedisney.com before going to bed.
I'm fascinated. I guess, so is she! :hypnotict

My kids both love it, too. Heads-up that there's a DVD in stores with a special Christmas episode. I think it's scheduled to air on the cable network next weekend, so save your money if you don't feel compelled to own it on disk. The episode is just the standard length (22-23 minutes), but they did put 2 other episodes on the DVD as well.
There are so many great--FREE--games for kids on websites affiliated with the childrens' shows. My 5yo already seems like a computer expert. I have an older computer for the kids set-up on a desk just off of our kitchen. I've bookmarked sites like PlayhouseDisney.com, Nickjr.com (Blues Clues, Dora), Lego.com, Hasbro.com (Star Wars), and so on. I don't even bother trying to find them games to play anymore because the kids just find them on their own from those sites. I paid about $50 for an annual subscription to Disney Blast, but the kids spend even more time on the free sites.

Ditto to the ditto... Our DS 4 loves the Clubhouse, and even I catch myself humming "Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog..." every once in a while. He and our DS 7 enjoy the sites Tim mentioned as well as a few others like pbskids.org and bigidea.com (if you like the Veggietales stuff).
I try to be careful and check up on their "browsing" and so far haven't found anything of concern---though some of the older kid stuff on lego.com might be worth at least a discussion of what is appropriate for your age group to play. The biggest internet threat I've found so far is that my 7 year old understands how to download demos of for-pay games and then gets peeved when the free trial period runs out.

My DD loves this show. I HATE the Hot Digity Dog song. The lyrics and crappy computer animation involved with this scene make me cringe. This show is not the best example of quality Disney animation IMHO

If I knew you were looking for it I would have PM'd you! I found them in stock the other day at kbtoys.com but they are out of stock again. Good Luck finding them!
Both my kids love this show. (Although the 7yr old would never admit it in public) They dance along and sing all the songs. DD could watch the DVD 100 times a day if we let her.
And now I am going to have Hot DIggity Dog stuck in my head allllll night long!

It is a favorite at our house as well. The boys are old enough to "play" along with the games and something about the colors seems to attract PJ for brief periods of time. When the singing starts, she does the "baby dance" and then moves on.
My only issue is that we have seen them all already. Hurry up that production!
Laura
(ok - I do get the Hot Dog song in my head for days lol so maybe I have two issues with the show. However - the kids love it)

This is actually one Playhouse show I don't get sick of watching with Amelia. She loves it and we always get up and dance together for the Hot Dog song.
I'll be getting her the new video for Christmas. She'll love it!

Word of warning about the Hot Dog song: They play it every so often at the new H&V character breakfast/lunch and invite the kids to dance along. It's very cute, but that song does get stuck in your head!
DS(3.5) loves the show. 6yo DD also likes it, but her friends at school say Mickey is for babies (!!!) so she can't admit to liking it in public.

The Christmas episode are cute. I was able to pick up the 2005 Playhouse Disney DVD for only $9.99 at Wegman's last week. It has Christmas episodes of Higglytown Heroes and JoJo's Circus, as well as two Shanna Show episodes.
It's cute!
