Now here's a cool idea:

$20 seems like a pretty good price, too. Hasbro was selling a big kit for about $35-40 with dozens of parts you could use to create your own unique creations. Personally I hated the idea of all of those spare parts littering the house. This sort of a one-time build has more of a personalized feel to it, IMO.

Really cool idea! By the way, As I read your post, I realized that I had a lightsaber in my lap courtesy of my 3 year old. How's that for a strange coincidence?

Dern! That's more money to put aside for our DS's souvenier budget next trip! :hammer:
I do think it's a cool idea though. DS and DH will LOVE that. He has the kit here at home and plays with it often. It's nice to see they are starting to do stuff for the boys too. (IE the pirates stuff and now this) The princesses have had so much more things.
Thanks for posting!

DH has already been talking to me about this. Looks like he'll be bringing one home in a few weeks. :hahahaha:

I heard about this at both morning meetings I went to at work this weekend. It's kind of think the Mr. Potatohead thing in that you can pick your own stuff to make the saber. Apparently there is a "side" for all your jedi master wanna-bes as well as those of you who are closet sith lords.......

Hey Doom, did they happen to mention anything about SWW in 2007? :innocent: I keep hearing a rumor that I am not too happy about right now. LOL I know you probably can't answer if you do know :goodvibes
Did they say when it would be ready? Thanks!
Pretty cool, Tim. thanks for the head's up.
Yeah, I can see DS spending an hour there, no problem. Oh, and uh, yeah, I guess I'll have to go with him, you know, just to keep an eye on things...:innocent:

ooooo - this will definately drag the kids and I back into the toy store. We have been avoiding it for some time now as they prefer Legoland and going into both is torture for them because they see so much they want at both places and yet are only allowed one "Prize" each trip.
Stimpy - rumors floating that they won't be doing SWW? I wouldn't put too much stock in that as those are some of the busiest weekends at MGM I have EVER seen. IT would seem to me like they only are adding a few more characters so I don't see how the cost could be so terrible that they aren't making a KILLING. Heck, they have extended it the last couple of years haven't they?
I am sure we will be there in late May :)

At our morning meetings, they discuss happenings in the marketplace, mostly. This build your own light saber is at Once Upon a Toy.
I don't know anything about SWW for next year. But as one who has gone to MANY Star Trek conventions, I don't think it would be too difficult for whoever runs this shindig to get some celebs.....

Sorry to hijack the thread!
I have heard they are definately doing SWW in 2007, but possibly starting in June instead of May as in previous years. We already have ressies for May which I made just for SWW. June would not be good for us at all and we would have to skip them this year. :boohoohoo

aaahhh - I hope not June too as we go as early as possible in May and it is already hot enough then to fry eggs on the sidewalk at MGM!!!

My hubby and son are BOTH Star Wars geeks and they will LOVE this... We may be getting TWO of these over XMas break. DS was Darth Vader for Halloween and "finding the perfect lightsaber" was a big deal.
Shan, I will be looking for you guys this XMas! We will be doing lots of day trips to WDW!
