Bummed out - no merry mixer or pin

Disney Vacation Club Members are invited to attend the Merry Member Mixer on December 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2006. This Member only event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. just outside of the International Gateway entrance to Epcot®.

A special Limited Edition pin has been created to celebrate this year's event. Mickey Mouse is dressed in holiday attire standing in front of a holiday wreath.

The pin will be released during the Merry Member Mixer events only and will not be available via Mail Order.

To purchase this pin, Disney Vacation Club Members must present a valid membership ID card at the event. All pins are available while supplies last. Normal Limited Edition purchase policy applies - two pins, per Member, per event.

The Mixer pin looks pretty nice...Im not a Stitch fan but did you see the one with Stitch in his candy cane boxers??? :hahahaha:

I'm disappointed that they've decided to turn the mixer into a pin sales event.

Next year, will there be trinket carts hawking lighted spinners ?

They've always had pin trading set up at the Merry Member Mixers. They have had a special table with them. This is the first time they have produced an event pin. It just follows with a lot of events they have - to produce a pin to go with that you can only get at the event.

I've been to all (meaning one event each year offered, not every event during Dec ) the previous MM, and I've never seen a pin trading table but either way, pin trading is a whole lot different than pin selling. I have no problem with a limited edition member only pin or even series of pins, but why not just sell them in the DVC resort gift shops and require the same credentials for purchase.

Last Dec. I dont remember seeing a 'pin selling" table just the "pin preview" table- My kids did some GREAT trades with some of the suits that were there! :)

I was at the MMM last year and the year before also - the only two years they had them - and was at the pin trading table both years. The second year, they did have pin previews also. I think the first year they just had traders out, I remember it was to your right after you entered the area. They had several trays of pins and you were allowed two trades, as usual. I remember because I picked up Jasmine sitting on a present for my DGD.

I can't remember if they were selling anything, because I wasn't buying.

I plan to be at the 12/21 mixer. If the limit is 2 pins/member, can DH and I each buy 2? If so, I can offer one pin each to the first 3 people to PM me. (Yeah, guess I'll be keeping one for myself...)
