Going to stay in January. When I check in I want to request that I am NOT (repeat) NOT in the Crest of the Wave building. It just seems so out in the open on the balcony.

I would kind of like to stay in that red/yellow part to the left? of the crest of the wave bldg. (I am reserved for a 1bdrm if that makes a difference).

What should I ask for at check in to see what is available that they will understand. I have never stayed there before.

Other good area's to maybe request?

You might ask if there's avalibility over the screen door store. I know there's a couple 1 bdrms there that have big balconies with great views.

Can't say for a larger room. I have had wonderful views in I think 3060 over the Brew Pub and in Crest of the Wave in 5007. Now both of those were just studios. I really liked the view in 5007. It didn't seem too open to me.

Cobbler, One thing that will hinder your request is the location of the GV's. From what I understand the 7 units are located either in the yellow section (under the boardwalk sign) or the red section (over the screen door) to the left toward the courtyard. There are non GV's rooms on the 2nd floor of these sections and there appear to be either 2 studios or 1 1 bedroom on each floor between these two sections. Does this make any sense? There is another whole 'red' section to the right of the Boardwalk sign section that would work. I haven't stayed at BWV yet so no personal experience just an obsession for floor plans. Perhaps you could request close to elevators????

The one bedroom right over the screen door is HA 1 BR, if that matters. I guess I don't really understand your objection to the Crest o' the Wave building, although come to think of it, DS and I stayed there and he'd agree with you-he probably wouldn't want to stay there again, either. For him it was the fact that we were so far down the Boardwalk, he felt like we were out of the action-couldn't see the "goins' on". Although it was a l-o-n-g walk down the hall, I loved where we were.

We loved it at the Village green area in front of the boat dock, great view.

what type of room do you reserve?

BW
preferred view non-BW
or
standard

the only one this could be a problem with would be BW. So if you have reserved a room in either non-BW or standard - you won't have this problem.

I know what you mean - I realized people weren't looking at me from below - but gee it sure felt like they were. I never request a BW view because of this.
